I have been reading Ilona Andrews’ Innkeeper Chronicles, and only now, many books in where it is explicitly explained, did I realize who George is. He has a last name. His brother is Jack. He’s a necromancer. He marries Sophie, who is basically unhinged. Gaston. Totally missed every single clue! This is why I don’t read mysteries.
So, many thanks to the author who finally decided all of these blatent clues still needed a narrator to walk the dumb audience by the hand to the correct conclusion!
Also, seeing grown up George be pretty awesome is so cool.

Oh 100% agreed! Neither of them had even scratched the surface of their character arcs! And they had so much excellent content to come!
I will never be over this or the unfairness of it. They: 1. had critical acclaim (literally had episodes rated higher than most if not all of Game of Thrones at its peak)
2. a consistent audience
3. were beginning to break more into the fandom consciousness despite minimal marketing (the fandom word of mouth did the heavy lifting)
4. performed better despite Amazon hiding it from their main page when it was airing
5. was more cost effective than other shows in genre (looks at Rings of Power bitterly, even if it was an ally)
6. had a dream cast and crew who went above and beyond for the show and material
and it got thrown away and shelved by Sony and Amazon. To my knowledge, Sony barely tried to shop it around at all and reportedly may have been the main deciders in canceling it when Amazon was happy-ish with it.
Hell, the fact Amazon never gave it a physical release and botched the Emmy nomination process for the song was just insult to injury.
Please let someone pick up this gem of a show 🥲
I always wanna hear more from the actors about the show but at the same time it just makes me re-sad 🤷♂️😮💨
