She thought he was having one of his existential crises again.
Of course, laying down on the battlefield wasn't exactly the brightest idea; she was positively sure that he knew that. Of course, he should know that! He scolded her every time she would sit down after a long, hard battle with the enemy.
“Luuuuuuu,” She calls, nudging him with her big toe to get his attention. “Hey, you should get up now, you know? We’re about move on, and I’d hate for you to miss out on it!”
No answer. He just continued to stare off into space.
“Hey! Lu!” She tries again, nudging him harder. “I know ya like to think and get lost, but we seriously have to get up so we can move on!”
Still, no answer. Annoyance sparked in Delthea’s chest.
“Ugh, Luthier! Get up! We’re going to leave soon, so you better get up!”
She kneels beside him, roughly shaking his shoulder. Instead of pulling away from her touch, he just shakes with her movements limply, still staring ahead. He didn’t even blink.
“Lu…?” She gingerly reaches out, touching his cheek with her warm palm. Startled, she withdrew her hand, pulling it close to her chest in horror.
“Lu? Get up, Lu!” She tries shaking him again, even more vigorously, trying to get him to wake up. “Get up, Lu, you big dummy! Get up!”
Her magic flickered into sparks and the only movement was from her shaking him, begging him, to wake up. But his eyes only remained cloudy and glossy, staring into space. Just like his deep thoughts in the wee hours of the morning, but the spark was gone.
He was lost to the wind, never to think again.
