Fabrice was mesmerized, practically pressing his face the cab’s window as he looked at the towering skyscrapers. His eyes turned skyward as her searched for the tops of these buildings, but they simply kept climbing.
“Oh! This is my stop!” He called to the cab driver hastily as he came back to his senses. This a confused face and a shrug, the driver stopped in front of, what seemed to be a condemned building.
Fabrice gathered his things and came to the driver’s window to pay him his fare. “Merci beaucoup, monsieur!” He said with a bright smile, “I mean, thank you sir!” He had to keep reminding himself to use English when he was speaking here, but it was hard when it was simple words in passing.
As the car pulled off, he turned to look at the Institute building, which to his eyes was beautiful, yet he knew it couldn’t compare his Paris Institute back home. With a content sigh, he walked up to the door to press his hand to it and request his entry.
