Thank you for answering! Now curious what happened while he was alive before he ended up in Hades. XD Ultimate irony ,that feels incredibly YRZ, that he died to avoid godly drama- and dropped straight into more of it. I love your OC AUs thank you so much for sharing them. :)
yrz had an... eventful life in ancient Greece because he’s the definition of Extra. I'm picturing him as a horrible hell child (grief, loss of everything he’s ever known, etc) and his parents had no idea what to do with him. they dump him at a temple to Artemis despite his gender because he is clearly incredibly feral. he grew up in the temple and became a scribe eventually, and calmed the fuck down as he grew up.
then one day he got bored and like... “invented” the guitar because he missed having one, and that attracted Appollo's attention being the god of, like, music and shit. Apollo and Artemis start duking it out, but like subtly -- immortal sibling style -- while yrz (oblivious) just went on with his overachieving life.
he learned to fight and got pretty damn good at it because lol of course he did. that adds Ares to the mix. he gave some dude advice about taxes who turned out to be a king or something? that gets athena interested. yrz does a new form of wine, bam Dionysius. better crops and farming! Demeter! better ships, posiedon! zeus is interested in this mortal his kids are so enamored with! aphrodite is also there, probably just to fuck with people!
so yrz’s reputation is getting uh, out of hand, shall we say, and here’s Artemis driving herself crazy trying to keep her annoying relatives away from her favorite priest. it gets to be so bad that even the mortals are taking notice and tension starts brewing for the honor of “hosting” a man so beloved by the gods. there might be an actual war on Olympus if Artemis doesn’t calm the fuck down.
finally, yrz notices the stupid going on when he gets asked to judge a contest among the gods -- spoiler warning: that never ends well for the mortal!
yrz takes a look at the gods around him, realizes that there is literally no way this ends without some sort of bloodshed, and just kind of stabs himself on out of there -- sort of like a kindergarten teacher going “you keep fighting over this toy so now none of you get to have it” except the toy is yrz. he does it so fast that the gods don’t even have time to react before he dies.
gods are clearly real so the afterlife must be too! he’s betting they won’t be able to bother him down in hades, and hey! he’s mostly right.
Artemis is, shall we say, Unhappy With This Decision.
