Dawn is an origin companion. The player first meets her after the crash, as she's using a powerful blast of magic to free herself from the pod. She is confused: through the tadpole, the player will realize that she doesn't recall any of the prior events that led to her capture.

Dawn: You can call me Dawn. I believe we have a better chance of survival of we join forces, don't you agree?

If you refuse to let her join the party, she will be fighting against you at the Moonrise Towers, alongside Ketheric Thorm.

She is a mage, specialized in necromancy. In spite of her macabre field of expertise, she is a chaotic good companion.

Astarion: For someone who toys with corpses on a daily basis, you are willing to go to extreme measures to save a stranger's life.

Dawn: I know death well enough to understand how precious every life truly is.

She will roll her eyes everytime, at the beginning of the game, Shadowheart or Astarion will disagree with the player's good choices, often times mocking them openly. She loves poking fun at her companions, but it's always light-hearted.

She enjoys Wyll's company the most, especially in the beginning, but she is quite immediately drawn towards Astarion. She often finds herself staring at him, trying to read underneath his mask.

Gale's ego and know-it-all attitude in the beginning will make for some funny banter.

Astarion: I must thank you, my macabre friend. I finally understand that phrase, "if looks could kill".

Dawn: Oh, dear.

Shadowheart: This is going to be fun.

Dawn: Is it that obvious?

Astarion: Well, not to him. He's usually too absorbed into his own lectures to notice much.

Shadowheart: Don't you appreciate that a mage of his caliber is willing to share his immense knowledge with a novice like you?

Astarion: Nono, don't cover your face, darling. We want to see it all.

She is half-drow, from her mother's side. Her father's identity is unknown (until Act 2). Her mother, Tal'dra Auvryrahel, a cleric of Shar, has kept her hidden in the Underdark for most of her life. She grew up a lonely child, with her uncle, Spirrak, as her main caregiver, who also taught her magic. Her mother was mostly absent, "trying to keep enemies off their tracks, protecting them".

Her drow name is Vier'une Auvryrahel. Dawn is a nickname that Spirrak gave her: Vier'une can be translated as "oracle of darkness". By lovingly naming her Dawn, perhaps, Spirrak tried to protect her from her fate. Needless to say, Tal'dra hates the nickname and will exclusively call her daughter Vier'une.

However, once Dawn became old enough, her mother sent her on a journey. If she were to survive by her own long enough, she would prove herself worthy of her Drow blood (Auvryrahel can be translated as "blood of the gods") and her mother's appreciation, if not her affection. When the events of the game happen, she's been living on the surface for years. She makes a living as a fortune teller, selling potions and exploring abandoned dungeons in search of artifacts to sell to greedy merchants.

During Act 2, her real identity is revealed, and two paths lay before her. She learns that she's only alive as part of a bigger plan. Will she fight her destiny and become her own person, or succumb to darkness?

Shameless self-insert. I have had the brain rot for this game since it came out. I can't simply enjoy things, I must put myself into them. I will keep updating this, lol.

Karlach/Tav Scenarios

Ok so I'm currently dating Karlach and here are my head cannons, by the way my Tav is called Celeste and goes by they/she PS I'm a bad writer so these will be cringe:

1. Celeste is a dumbass , they share about 2 braincells between the two of them , Celeste frequently forgets that Karlach is hot enough to burn her despite also attempting to boil a kettle of her chest minutes earlier.

2. In an attempt to actually cuddle without needing to run over to Halsin or Shadowheart (the party healers) Karlach discovered that if Celeste chugs a fire resistance potion they can kiss eachother for about 10 seconds before her heat is too much.

3. Karlach absolutely loves Scratch and his mere presence makes her happy.

4. Any body of water becomes a personal sauna if you decide to sit with Karlach.

5. Celeste tends to take advantage of the leidenfrost effect, allowing them to give Karlach a quick kiss.

Cringetober Day 2: Self Insert

So this was a little cheaty because its a core part of the game, but I drew my self insert BG3 character, Amara Celestine :3 they're a high elf cleric and I thought this was so fun !! I wanted to doodle a little comic of them having their hair braided by shadowheart because they're selunite/shar rivals to lovers,, maybe a different day hehe

Not me making a s/i for a game that I'm probably not even gonna play myself 😭🙏 here it is folks some simple ref of my bg3 tav!

She's a half-elf Paladin and a follower of Oghma, the God of Knowledge, with a sage background ♡ she's got an insatiable and somewhat macabre curiosity that leads her to explore things that are sometimes considered a bit disturbing but she finds fascinating! She has a bit of a manic edge that can make her seem a bit inconsiderate at times because she talks faster than she can think, but she means well and is very sweet! And of course she's catching feelings for a certain someone 😊
