Chapter 31 of Song-Hexed. Therran's perspective. 💖

*also yes, they still celebrate birthdays despite the fact they're all immortal*

The rage I'm feeling towards the vile woman that went after my sister, and her own child, is unmatchable. When I saw the blood run down Emmy’s leg, her tears, and the shock state she was in, I felt heavy emotions that had me screaming internally. Fanden felt them too. 

“Emmy, would you feel better if we all walked you home? I'm sorry you had to encounter this, and I hate that she ruined a part of your day that was supposed to be special,” I ask her as we stand in the middle of the stone-brick road further away from the city so we aren't grabbing too much attention. Kairon has his left arm wrapped around Emmy’s waist, unable to keep his worried eyes off her. Jenevelle is curled up comfortably in the stroller in plain sight of the both of them. 

“Yes. I'm still a bit shaken up,” Emmy murmurs, taking a deep breath. “Thank you. I love you both so much.” 

Kairon meets my gaze and nods, a very light smile beginning to curl on his lips as he silently mouths the words, ‘Thank you.’

Karlach, Fanden, and I walk around my sister and Kairon as we travel back to the tower. Kairon opens the door, and at that very moment, as he takes Jenevelle inside, I pull Emmy in for a comforting hug to assure her I'm always here for her. 

“Fanden and I love you. Our baby.” She takes a very deep breath while her head is on my chest, and with the quietest of tones, she whispers back, “I love you too. I can't imagine what I would do if we never got united.”

My sister and Fanden exchange a loving hug, and once she is back inside the home, the door shuts behind her. All three of us turn around to head back to my parents’ house, and now I'm curious on what's to happen next. 

“That was a shit show. You know, what happened at the restaurant,” Karlach murmurs, and it's clear to me she wishes she could've done more. “Like…what if we didn't stop her in time, and she took off with Jenevelle? Why is she targeting Emmy? I have so many fucking questions.”

I turn to face the woman of smoke and embers, and a genuine smile touched my lips despite the tension humming between us. Her fury is a beautiful, terrible thing. I watch as she tries to contain the inferno inside, her golden eyes narrowing to fiery slits. Her nose wrinkles a scrunch that reveals just how much she is actually holding back. Her jaw is clenched so tightly that I can see the muscles jump along her cheekbones, and the sharp tips of her fangs are visible as she grits her teeth.

I place my hands gently on her shoulders, a simple gesture meant to ground her. Beneath my palms, her muscles are coiled and tense, but as she registers my touch, I feel the rigid tension begin to soften. Her breathing, which has been a series of sharp, ragged gasps, slowly starts to even out. The fierce heat radiating from her skin feels less like a threat and more like a gentle warmth. A long, shuddering sigh escapes her lips as her eyes slowly open, revealing a depth of vulnerability.

“Thank you for doing what you did for my little sister. I tried so hard to prevent myself from going after that…person…but you took one for the team, Karlach. She means the entire universe to Fanden and I. Words can't express how–” 

With a growl as fiery as her spirit, Karlach interrupts my thoughts. She presses her lips against mine, a searing kiss that sets my senses ablaze. The burning intensity is intoxicating, a physical manifestation of the joy she finds in me. The soft touch lingers for a moment, and I find myself silently begging, pleading that this moment, this feeling, never ends.

However, her captivating lips release themselves from mind after just a minute, and her vibrant autumn-colored eyes widen from shock. 

“I…I have to go.” She shifts her body the opposite direction and bolts as embarrassment flushes through her. I want to chase after her and assure her that it's alright, that I wanted the same romantic encounter as she. Unless, for some reason, something else beneath the surface is bothering her. I didn't realize how much I wanted her close to me until she kissed me just now, and I probably won't stop thinking about it. Damn it. 

“This day just keeps getting more interesting, huh?” Fanden mutters in a teasing manner, then wraps his arm around my shoulder. “Don't worry. She’ll come running back to you, I have a feeling. Let's get home, shall we?” 

“You're right. We have to get ready for the little housing community dad is building. Shit, we haven't told Emmy that it's almost finished. When do we tell her all the details, anyway?” 

Fanden and I begin walking along the trail as the sun begins to set, enjoying the peace we’re finally able to endure after a chaotic day. 

“Dad said we can't tell her until her birthday next week. I hope she's on board. You and I have our own place away from our parents, but still being neighbors… But God, it'll be so fun having Emmy and Kairon next door. Plus, she’ll have more room for her garden. I think Dad said he wants to be the one to spill the news, anyway.”

Ah, Emmy’s birthday. We have so much planning to do! And I think I have the perfect idea in mind, I'll just need to find a way to yoink her husband away from the tower for a little while without giving too much away. Good thing I was taught how to bake from a young age, because Mr. Therran Gortash is going to create the most fantastic cake for our girl. 

Fanden and I stroll through the beautiful city of Waterdeep, and as we approach our home, the sound of Halsin’s voice can be heard in the distance. 

“Hey you two!” We turn around, noticing the large elven druid approach us eagerly. “I wish I caught you sooner. How’s Emmy holding up?” He is maintaining fierce, passionate eye contact with Fanden that's undeniably flirtatious, though I sense he is genuinely concerned about our sister.

“She isn't doing great, but I think she's at ease knowing that woman got arrested,” Fanden responds, not appearing to be as flirtatious as our friend Halsin. Then again, the only thing on my brother’s mind is the worry he has for Emmy and not striking a conversation with anyone at this point.  I notice a light, wholehearted smile light up his face at least. 

“Well, I'll be thinking about her. I’m still in shock that someone would go to lengths like that…and her poor baby was so terrified, I can still hear her cries. Tomorrow is a new day. Let's hope life for her only goes uphill from here.” Halsin smiles back at my brother, his left eye winking as he refuses to break his gaze. “Take care, Fanden. I hope to see you soon.”

Hello hello everypony, yet another story set in the BG3 universe. But this time it's between the Tav of my lovely girlfriend @dainty0ribbon Lamb and my Tav Maniae from one of the campaigns we are playing!!

I didn't proof read this, english isn't my first language so all mistakes are my own!

Rummaging through a couple of chests, Maniae stands with their back turned to Lamb, Shadowheart and Karlach. They simply had to look through everything before they can all continue with their journey, what can they say? They like stealing things from people, but is it really stealing if the people in question were already dead upon their arrival? It's not like they have any use for their stuff anymore.

That being said, they open the last chest and their eyes widen, they are no longer paying attention to the conversation that is happening, their eyes glued on a beautiful ring they see laying on the bottom of one of the chests. It is a golden band with beautiful pink stones embedded in them. Snatching the ring, Maniae is quick to pocket it before anyone can see it or ask why they stopped moving all of a sudden.

"Are you done? I'm dying to go back to camp and have a good meal," Karlach starts with a heavy sigh, it's been a long day already. Most of them are covered in blood, tired and desperate to get in their bedrolls and sleep until the next morning.

Maniae rolls their eyes and stands up, dusting their clothes off and holding up a small pouch with trinkets and coins they looted from the few chests.

"We can go now, the other stuff is useless anyway,"

"Finally!" Karlach exclaims, throwing her axe over her shoulder and she begins marching.

Lamb giggles at Karlach's behaviour and waits for Maniae to start walking, slippging her hand in theirs and squeezing softly.

"What did you find?" She asks, swinging their joined hands between them as they make their way back to their campsite.

Maniae smiles and squeezes Lamb's hand back, letting her swing their hands, "Oh you know, coins, some old necklaces, a pair of daggers and a dusty hat," And the ring tucked in their pocket, but Lamb doesn't need to know about that one yet.

Lamb hums at that, "Sounds like we can sell some of that stuff again,"

"We most definitely can, we can never have enough coin if you ask me!"

Lamb laughs softly, and Maniae would be lying if they said it wasn't their favourite sound all across Faerûn.

Once they're back at camp, Maniae put the stuff they found away in the tent they ended up sharing with Lamb. Speaking off Lamb, they hear her talking to Scratch and the owlbear cub they had adopted, somehow. They still wonder why the animals had joined them in their little camp, but it is nice. Makes this place seem more alive.

They're about to leave the tent when Lamb enters instead, now is their chance.

"Lamb? do you have a moment to spare for me?" Maniae takes her hand and sits them both down on the bedrolls.

"For you? Always, what's on your mind?" Lamb's smile is contagious and Maniae can feel themself begining to smile as well.

"Can you close your eyes? I don't want to spoil the surprise,"

Lamb's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, but she closes her eyes regardless, trusting her partner completely. She feels her heart racing, and she tries to calm it down. She feels Maniae's thumb rubbing the back of her hand that they're still holding. She can hear Maniae rummaging through their stuff while muttering under their breath about needing to organise better. When Lamb is about to ask if Maniae can find everything, she feels something metal slide around her ring finger, it would've been cold, but it isn't.

"Open your eyes," Maniae breathes out, slightly shaky, they are a bit nervous but mask it well enough behind practiced confidence.

Opening her eyes, Lamb first sees the blue ones of Maniae looking at her with expectations written in them. They look down at where they're still holding her hand and Lamb follows their gaze. Around their ring finger sits a beautiful ring, gold with pink stones. She gasps and lifts her hand closer to her face so she can inspect it properly. There is a faint hint of magic coming from this ring, Maniae's magic she has grown oh so familiar with.

"It's beautiful love, thank you," Lamb wraps her arms around Maniae and pulls them in for a quick kiss and pressing many more all over their face. It causes Maniae to giggle softly, and she loves that sound.

"I saw it and simply had to give it to you, with a little spell by yours truly ofcourse. A little protection spell, nothing bad i promise," they quickly point out, wrapping their own arms around Lamb and pulling her into their lap.

Lamb presses another kiss to their lips, "You are too sweet, i swear,"

"Only for you, always for you,"

I was tagged by @unovafarm and I did plan to try to do just more than vanna as I have a lot of babies and I just did vanna for the deep dive. However my health tanked majorly as my migraine formed and Vanna’s game was the one up on the screen.

This one was created because vanna shares my migraines (most of my characters do. They say place yourself in your characters) so we’re sitting there trying to blank out to lesson the pain.

A poor character pleading not to suffer to their not listening creator

The migraine got worse. So vanna is pleading to at least let me live until I give them the happy ending.

This looks romantic but vanna and I would get along in real life and he made his hands colder to help, with the migraine. I am directing him to the really bad spot.

OC Deep Dive: vanna and Calluna

It was a struggle to find out who to do, because I love all my babies but I finally decided on Calluna and vanna as I am writing their stories out. I got tagged by the lovely @theya-art. Seriously go read about Caedus here

Q1: What common/uncommon fear do they have? vanna fears uncertainty in a way. Not in what is to come but what is missing in himself. He is afraid during the game to learn the answers. Why is there this darkness. Who actually empowers him when he calls upon his deity. What is lurking in that space of time he can’t recall? He fears the answers.

Calluna meanwhile fears oblivion. she knows there is an afterlife. She talks to ghosts but the complete death of self. The complete erasure of who they believe to be. It absolutely terrifies them. They also have a more common phobia of spiders.

Q2: What are 3 items you can find in their bedroom?

For vanna, you would find gold hoop earrings. You would also find a drawer of gold and gems. He is part dragon after all and he does love hoarding money. You would also find a bunch of pillows. He likes sinking down into soft things.

Calluna’s room would have you finding bags of chocolate peanut butter bat candies. You would find jewelry boxes full of rings… you would also find a whole bunch of crystals and tarot decks. She also gets a fourth item in she has little vials of honey all over the place for the fae when they come to visit.

Q3: On a scale of 1-10, how high is their pain tolerance? It depends on the injury. Something like a stubbed toe or a broken bone would hurt them way more than an allergy attack, a head injury or a migraine. Both of them have severe chronic migraines and Calluna suffers through allergies. In that sense both of them have high pain tolerances but something like burns or acid damage might hurt more than some one who’s suffered through those daily.

Q4: Do they go into fight or flight mode when under pressure? both Calluna and vanna hate to lose. They absolutely refuse to buckle under pressure and often sacrifice health to fight to the end. When some one else is in trouble then both of them fight and give it their everything. This isn’t to say there are some cases that inspired a flee mode but the absolute default is definitely fight.

Q5: Do they come from a big family/are they a family person? vanna just has mai and in the end he has the tadpole group. He is very family oriented however and does at least want one. Calluna has a decent sized family with a lot of cousins and aunts and uncles but their immediate family is just them, their fae, and their parents. She does consider their best family. Of course only elease has shown up.

Q6: What animal represents them best?

vanna got a tiger when I took the test. He has a commanding prescene, but moves silently and can kill you when needed. He is family oriented, loyal and commanding.

meanwhile Calluna is a kit fox. She is somewhat elusive when given the choice. As she works with fae she is highly adaptable. She also has an high curiosity and is family oriented.

Q7: What’s a smell they like/dislike?

both of them hate the smell of skunks. They don’t have anything about the animal personally but both vanna and Calluna are extremely allergic.

vanna also hates the smell of over perfumed Patriars. It’s like they’re trying too hard. Just be clean and use a mild scent in your soap. Don’t bath in cloying floral scents.

meanwhile Calluna hates smokers. She doesn’t mind when you need to relax, but she is allergic to the scent and it doesn’t help most she meets get right up and blow in your face. If you heavily smell of it, she is out of the room.

Q8: Have they broken any bones?

Suprisingly no. Both of them do have scars, Calluna even more so since she and Kal’s appearance merged. However they both are double jointed and hyper flexible meaning said bones and joints tend to bend more than they should… or stranger than they should.

Q9: How would a stranger likely describe them?

As the leader of the cult of Bhaal people described themself as a terrifying and charismatic person. As the lost mage people Caedus is described as a shy person with shifty eyes. As the red sorcerer as a polite and elegant person with their long red dress. Q10: Are they a night owl or a morning bird?

Even they have insomnia Caedus is a morning bird, their prefer live the day.

Q11: What’s a flavour they hate and a flavour they love? Vanna loves salted caramel. He likes that little bit of salty or sour sweet. Sour gummies are also a favorite. He hates the taste of cherries. It is too cloyingly sweet and makes them sick.

meanwhile Calluna loves guava or raspberries. Actually most berries are a favorite of theirs. Meanwhile they hate mustard or anything made with too much vinegar.

Q12: Do they have any hobbies? both Calluna and vanna like to draw or read fiction. It’s a way to zen out and get absorbed in the details of something.

Calluna also likes studying magic and spells and tarot. Just different things to make their craft more enjoyable. Some times she’ll play on the flute although that’s more Kal’s hobby.

vanna likes to cook and sew or figure out different forms of fire and lightning magic.

Q13: Boom! Surprise birthday party! How do they react?

Badly. After time they would feel special they warranted celebrating but both of them hate surprises. It’s the uncertainty of the thing and Calluna struggles with people keeping such a massive planning away from them. Do not try to surprise them unless it’s a gift. Even then just give the gift on the day. Don’t try to ramp up the suspense.

Q14: Do they have neat or messy handwriting?

It depends. If they are writing for someone else to read then yes. Vanna has extremely elegant writing and it’s super easy to read. Calluna less so but she tries very hard.

If it’s a quick note that no one but themselves will read or who they think no one but themselves will read then it can be too small and a bit confusing to people not long time friends.

Q15: What are two emotions they feel the most?

Calluna tends to feel empathy the most. Where is someone coming from? Why were they given to do this. They wish to help their friends, make it better or just give great hugs. They also are extremely calm, when everyone is falling apart Calluna offers solutions and keeps their head on. Sure they can panic but if someone needs them they are there being a soothing calming presence.

vanna feels creative a lot of the time. They like creating new things. Exploring how art comes together or creating something that makes another person smile. It helps in battle when he needs to bring down an opponent in a way they might not suggest.

sadly another emotion is stressed. Vanna tries to take on everything for everyone at the cost of themselves. They are the leader so they can’t show hurt or insecurity or the like. The others all need serious help and therapy and vanna wants to help them obtain their own. However he is hiding his anxiety on being a bhaalspawn… that for a while he couldn’t use his cleric powers… the migraines and headaches. The dizziness.

Q16: What kind of accent do they have?

In the real world vanna has a tiny bit of old world almost British accent. I’ll do a post soon with their voice claim but think alucard from castlevania.

Calluna at times has a dry American accent when she is pissed off a heavily Irish accent.
