This was so priceless😂😂😂. Absolutely Lyra style! BTW, it would be amazing to see Hyperion's face when he is asked to 'switch' places. Would Lyra have accepted to put off the wedding if Orion had stressed his dislike for Reyna? Does she care for him that way?

And I'm really amazed at Orion's new 'discovery' of his taste in men. It will be interesting to see the future developments ❤

I’m glad you liked the line! It made me smile when I wrote it, just imagining Lyra saying it so casually.

Hyperion would 100% NOT have reacted well to a switch. Lyra would 100% make fun of him for it (she’d be like “Are the Livingstones not good enough for you?” 🤨).

Lyra could be persuaded. She does want Orion to be happy with whoever he marries (a big part of why she picked Reyna was because Reyna was pretty, which is enough for Orion as far as Lyra is concerned). However, best case scenario is that Lyra delays the wedding, forces them to spend time together courting so Orion learns to like Reyna, and then they get married later on. It’s a good reflection of their parent-child relationship: Lyra gives Orion a fair amount of leeway, even factors in his likes and dislikes, but he doesn’t always have total freedom.

Orion’s new ‘discovery’ is a remnant of the original plot 😅. Quill would’ve been the trigger that made Orion realize he’s not as heterosexual as he thought, but alas. I figured I may as well use the plot points since they’re there and adapt them to match the new outline 😉

Hey Bhaleesi! After reading the recent chps, I'm so scared for Quill. Everyone, even the most unimportant characters seem to be in motion😵😵😵. The pieces are all assembling and falling into their positions and yet, Quill being the protagonist, has been stagnant all this while😣😣. I'm really interested to see his character develop cuz he's the least prepared if the enemies strike. Will he be Dany, Cersei....the next Dadia Stareyes? OMG, I can't imagine him alone without Ayden😭😭. So Bhaleesi, will he be off on a power grasping journey? Or will he choose some other path?

I can’t imagine Quill without Ayden either 🥺

Act 3 so far has been laying the pieces. There’s one more chapter of “piece-laying”, and then the real game will begin. I won’t spoil anything, but I will say this: Quill and Ayden are currently dealing with the political conflict in western Stepes that has been hinted at throughout the story. Western Stepes ... which has been ruled by Insurgent werewolves for decades. Western Stepes ... which has seen Ayden (and the Caedises) as an enemy for decades. Makes you think that Ayden might not be the best monarch to handle this, doesn’t it? I wonder who might be 🤔

Had fun creating an ‘intro’ for my fic, A Wolf Amongst Serpents. I always loved GOT’s method of showing the different locations stylistically, and the link below renders it AWAS-style.

If AWAS were to ever be a show, I’d want the intro to be a bit like this, but with a the characters showing up with their respective locations. Things would mostly be in grayscale, and the format would resemble a 1920s movie reel. It would sound as if it was coming from an old radio, and the voiceover  would definitely have that old-timey Transatlantic Accent (or maybe the speaker would cycle through the main POVs).

Hey Bhaleesi! Will we get moodboards for AWAS characters? BTW what does Lucien think of Quill? I cant imagine the brooding Lucien with soft spoken Corvus. It makes me shudder. And what abt Reyna and Orion? I cant imagine them being in a relationship of equal footing.

I’ll do mood boards for the characters once I’m done with the cities (and once I learn how to do character boards ... lol).

Orion and Reyna, oh boy. You’re 100% right that it won’t be the healthiest of relationships. Orion is definitely NOT going to be the one in charge even though it’s his clan. If Reyna is sneaky and charming enough, Lyra might even view that as a good thing.

Lucien’s feelings on Quill are pretty complicated. I’d say he doesn’t dislike Quill per say since they don’t really interact much. His issues are more with the concept of a “replacement” for Selene, who in this case happens to be Quill and the age gap doesn’t help. Politically speaking Lucien and Corvus are a great match, but personality-wise... yeah. Lucien can be a bit rude sometimes, and Corvus is more sensitive than people realize. Yet neither of them like being in the spotlight, which is going to be difficult given their societal expectations. They have a tough road ahead before they’re ready to rule the kingdom.
