This was so priceless😂😂😂. Absolutely Lyra style! BTW, it would be amazing to see Hyperion's face when he is asked to 'switch' places. Would Lyra have accepted to put off the wedding if Orion had stressed his dislike for Reyna? Does she care for him that way?

And I'm really amazed at Orion's new 'discovery' of his taste in men. It will be interesting to see the future developments ❤

I’m glad you liked the line! It made me smile when I wrote it, just imagining Lyra saying it so casually.

Hyperion would 100% NOT have reacted well to a switch. Lyra would 100% make fun of him for it (she’d be like “Are the Livingstones not good enough for you?” 🤨).

Lyra could be persuaded. She does want Orion to be happy with whoever he marries (a big part of why she picked Reyna was because Reyna was pretty, which is enough for Orion as far as Lyra is concerned). However, best case scenario is that Lyra delays the wedding, forces them to spend time together courting so Orion learns to like Reyna, and then they get married later on. It’s a good reflection of their parent-child relationship: Lyra gives Orion a fair amount of leeway, even factors in his likes and dislikes, but he doesn’t always have total freedom.

Orion’s new ‘discovery’ is a remnant of the original plot 😅. Quill would’ve been the trigger that made Orion realize he’s not as heterosexual as he thought, but alas. I figured I may as well use the plot points since they’re there and adapt them to match the new outline 😉

Used artbreeder to make one of my OCs: Hyperion Tydus from A Wolf Amongst Serpents. I really like his facial expression, but I wish the long hair options weren’t gender-locked. He’d be perfect with a flowing mane.

Hyperion Tydus, A Wolf Amongst Serpents 

Someone yelled, “It’s an inferno in there, my lord! We’re doing our best to quench it, so-”

“Your best isn’t good enough!” Hyperion’s throat was hoarse. Ares is going to burn.

A loud crackle sounded as a portion of Dadia’s Rest collapsed. It sent up a cohort of orange and yellow that danced madly in the night. A man jumped from a low window, crawled three paces, then succumbed to fires that gleefully engulfed him. Hyperion’s thoughts swept beyond his control as he watched, conjuring possibilities that made him hyperventilate.

His baby brother with his flesh sloughed off, Ares in the depths of hellfire.

It spurred him with renewed vigour. This time, he managed to evade the arms of those who sought to block him. With only a spare thought for himself, Hyperion ran into the flames.  

I am a Tydus. He repeated this mantra. The flames cannot hurt me.

She quickly navigated her way through the train station and stepped out into the bustling hub. Isabelle adjusted the large sunhat she wore – a style popular with Ancienti vampires – and walked through the familiar sidewalks along the off-white buildings. More than a few of them deviated from the neoclassical pattern, with brightly-coloured architecture standing proudly along street corners. Vehicles sped past Isabelle, loud honks filling the air from all of the impatient drivers.

Ancient is so different from Sanguis, Isabelle thought with a smile. Whereas Starkhall is dark and shrouded, Courtmere feels warm and alive.

A small garden off to the side drew his attention. In it was a statue of a woman carved from white stone. She gleamed in the weakening light, well-maintained and polished.

Hyperion approached it after a person finished kneeling at the base. The statue was large – not quite as imposing as those of the five gods in their Sanctuaries – and rested on a podium that overlooked Courtmere. White lilies bloomed in green hedges and bushes, large and sweet-smelling. A few had been woven together and placed in the statue’s lap. She smiled demurely at all who chanced upon her.
