I have a couple questions: I was original in BHRM and wanted to switch to BAS ITEC but got discouraged. Then I wanted to do BAS Management with a minor in IT but the academic advisor said that wasn’t possible. So since I am already taking BAS courses I do not want to stay in BHRM as the other courses will be waste so i was thinking BAS in HR. Is this a better idea as it is more general and I have yet to make up my mind.
Also, this OSAP application didnt ask how many credits I will take but I am assuming I said 30 somewhere so if I take 27 in fall/winter and then 3 in summer, will it affect my OSAP? Thank you!
Hi anon! I might be in BAS, but I’m in accounting and I have no knowledge of the difference in BAS HR and BHRM. I believe BHRM is certified by the board for HR, but I’m not certain if BAS HR isn’t or if it actually is certified or not. Your best bet would be to compare the academic calendars of both and see what requirements differ. You can try visiting advising at Atkinson and asking them.
As for your OSAP question, I don’t take OSAP but I’ll ask one of the other admins to add on :)
OSAP generally asks what percentage of a full course load you are taking, it should be indicated somewhere on your application so you can go and check that.
If you reduce your fall/winter course load from 30 to 27 for fall/winter, you HAVE to submit a change request since summer OSAP is applied for separately.
