Another Bi!Jake Headcanon
Jake doesn’t realize he’s bi
It just like never occurred to him that he could like boys too
Not that he wouldn’t say things
But he just assumed every dude says stuff like “yah I’d let him smash”
It just never clicked ???
He knew ‘straight’ wasn’t a label that fit him, but it’s what he knew
So he just lived his life like “yeah women great, I’m straight”
He just thought it was human to have some level of attraction to the same sex
No one called him out on his attraction to men except for the one time Charles had said “oh you’re into men” Jake just responded with “uh no Charles I but I can appreciate when someone looks that good”
But it did make Jake think a little bit about it, but he chose not to investigate it further
Besides, he’s only ever dated women, and he’s currently with Amy so
And then Rosa comes out to the squad as Bi
And Jake is hella supportive
But he doesn’t understand it completely
So he researched bisexuality whenever Amy is sleeping
Only uses incognito mode so she can’t see
Not that he’s hiding things from her, but just because he doesn’t want Amy to assume anything
Besides, Jake is with Amy anyways, so what does it matter
(It matters a lot to him)
So Jake reads up a lot about Bisexuality and talks with people online
Jake just thought everyone was like him
But he’s bisexual
He knows it
And he cries because it just makes a lot more sense then him being straight
And it’s the first time that he feels like he fits
He really wants to tell Amy
But they’re together
And what if this just makes her feel insecure (it doesn’t)
He’s committed in a relationship with a woman, he’s never even dated a guy so does that really make him Bi ??
Jake isn’t sure, but he wants to talk about it with someone
But Jake also doesn’t want them to tell him that he isn’t Bi
Jake is worried he’s projecting a sexuality onto himself
I mean sure he may have kissed a few guys in college but that doesn’t actually mean anything
And sure he’d let Chris Hemsworth bend him over and take him from behind
But does that mean anything ??
So Jake bottles it up
And he bottles it up hard
The squad notices Jake is acting off
He even has Hitchcock and Scully worried (“Jakey are you okay” “Jake is acting off isn’t he, I betcha he and amy had…”)
Holt gives him a few days off in hopes that It’ll get Jake out of his head
(It doesn’t work)
Terry tries his best to get Jake to make a joke
Charles knowingly makes sex innuendos and Jake doesn’t even laugh
Amy says something that warrants a “title of your sextape” from Jake but gets nothing
Rosa tells Jake he can crash at her place if something is going on with him and Amy
Jake finally cracks at 2am in bed a while later
One moment he’s playing with Amy’s hair while she sleeps
The next he’s sobbing and she’s awake trying to comfort him
“It’s okay Jake, whatever this is, it’s okay”
“I’m sorry Ames, I’m sorry”
“Jake it’s okay, I love you, whatever is wrong we can get through it together, I got you”
And then Jake tells her what he’s been hiding
“I think I’m Bi, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I love you Amy, I don’t want you to leave me, I’m not sure if I actually am, it just feels like the right word for me.”
This admission makes Amy cry
Not because she doesn’t accept him, but because she feels that she didn’t do a good job of making him feel loved enough to tell her and be confident that this wouldn’t affect their relationship
“Jake that’s okay, I love you. I’m sorry. If I haven’t been supportive enough, but I accept you. I accept you and your sexuality. You like guys, okay so do I, you still love me, and I love you. Who you’re attracted too doesn’t change anything”
Jake cries some more, but out of relief
Amy calls into work citing a “family emergency” for the both of them
Jake and Amy spend the day talking about how Jake came to realize this. About how alone he felt looking for these answers and finally getting them
Jake finally feels like he fits somewhere now that he knows who he is
Jake knows he’s Bisexual and even if he’s never dated a man, and is married to a woman, it doesn’t invalidate his sexuality
