what is the bi-wing lore if i might ask?? the previous ask about it makes it seem like it was another 'some writer tried to imply something/let dick out of the closet but dc editorial said no' situation but idk if i just misread that or missed something or what, but now i'm super curious.
There's no lore as far as I'm aware. Just some fans wanting Dick to be bi. Although, there was a bit of a tease of Dick's sexuality in the Grayson series with Dick adjusting his bow tie and asking, "Am I straight?" Obviously asking if the bow tie is straight, but it comes across as having an alternate meaning. That definitely made some fans mad. Some viewed it as queerbaiting.
The other bisexual stuff comes from the video game Gotham Knights. Dick had a mug with the bi colors on it, and there was also a log where Dick was asked in an interview if he had a specific type, and he answered by saying all people were gorgeous. And something about why should he restrict himself to one archetype. But I've never played the game and don't have any type of context for what was going on with that. Like maybe Dick was just playing it up for the reporter and was giving a broad answer as some kind of act. No idea. But that's what I've seen.
