three months ᯓ⭑
paring: clark kent x fem!reader
content: fluff, clark being romantic
warnings: slightly suggestive
twisting the keys to open your apartment door, you were met with soft record player jazz. it was the record player clark had brought home for you — only a month into dating.
yet, today was your three month anniversary.
"clark?" your voice echoed through your semi-vacant apartment. you hadn't had time to prioritize buying furniture given the fact that you’d been promoted to editor. you thought you’d be late for your anniversary celebration.
placing your bag down, you step forward into the hallway, turning right into the kitchen. as soon as you turn right, your eyes meet a backside. clark, your clark. you let your eyes linger on the length of his shoulders, seeing them flex through his white button up. with each movement, you couldn't help but lean against the archway, watching him in his element.
"happy anniversary," he said whilst looking over his shoulder, giving you that perfect smile of his — forearm flexing from moving the skillet.
an immediate blush appeared on your face. he was so romantic. cooking for you, gifting you presents, treating you right. a god damn unicorn.
"happy anniversary, clark."
he turned, gently grabbing your arm to pull you closer. from this angle, you took a peak at the food. breakfast. of course it wasn’t normal dinner. "seriously, again? you said you'd make something other than breakfast for once.”
while shrugging his shoulders, he couldn't help but let out a small scoff. his dimples began peaking through the skin — they always managed to get an eye roll out of you. even the slightest peak at them made you want to jump him right then and there; especially now, given this romantic atmosphere. the jazz, him in his white button up — the collar slightly open… you name it.
his hand moved to switch the knob off, letting the fire come to a stop. the breakfast didn't look the slightest bit overcook, it looked perfect. just as you began to grab plates, he scooped you up into his arms, placing you onto the counter — the cold granite adding to your surprise.
"clark!" you squealed loudly — placing your hands on his shoulders.
he tilted his head, kissing your lips shut. eventually it worked — it was small pecks he gave you, no where near full kisses. "it's our three month mark. you... me... I just wanted to celebrate us," his voice came out in a whisper between each smack.
you both hadn't been too physical in the span of three months. it was a mutual decision, taking your time with eachother — yet with the way he was acting now, you already felt hot. why take it slow anymore?
the hands gripping onto his shoulders slipped down to the buttons of his shirt — opening more. he couldn't help but smile into the kiss, sliding your body closer to the edge of the countertop.

clark held you close. one hand on your waist, the other holding your own — slow dancing in the living room of your apartment. as cheesy as it was, it was sweet.
“hey, don’t look surprised i can dance, honey.”
“i didn’t say anything.”
“you’re thinking it. your heart rate picked up the moment i dipped you.”
he pulled you up from the small dip, continuing to sway to the tempo of the jazz record. clark moved his hand in circular motions on the small of your back— he wanted to feel your skin through the white fabric of his shirt, the one you put on nearly thirty minutes ago.
“i think id like three more months of this, yeah?”
you’d definitely want more than three months of this.
short but sweet! ty for reading <3
