Combining cretaceous with big, Deinosuchus ambushes today's #extinctanimaloftheday. Deinosuchus was a large relative of the alligator that lived in the late cretaceous (82-73 mya). Deinosuchus was able to reach lengths of 10.6 m (35 ft) and it was built to crush bones with its powerful muscles and crushing teeth, likely to hunt large dinosaurs by ambushing, very much how modern crocodiles and alligators hunt today.
