So tired I introduced Durham, Wakefield and Buller like an Ocean's 11 montage. Had to type it out for posterity.

First, Lord Durham. The front man. They call him radical Jack for a reason; high-handed, stinking rich and camp as Christmas. But he's got a nose for reform, so if anyone's gonna save Canada, he's the man for the job.

Then there's Wakefield. The ideas man. Colonisation isn't conquest, it's engineering. People, land, labour, capital. Arrange them just right and the Empire runs itself. Ideas move faster when he's talking, and truth usually follows behind, out of breath. Should be kept away from 15 year old heiresses.

"Unify the Canada's and the French will be in the minority. Keep them separate and they'll rebel. It's not philosophy, it's mechanics."

Buller. The operator. Secretary on paper, architect in practice. He turns theory into language Parliament can swallow. Every radical idea gets dressed up in reason. Knows the terrain, the people and the cost. Young, but sharp.

"Responsible government... But loyal. That'll sell."

One provides authority. One supplies the blueprint. One makes it sound inevitable.
