The Nightmare Collector (??? Monster ) x Gender Neutral Reader
(Floofs is back on their, let’s design weird monsters kick, wheeeee!!)
You turn your head to the side, just keeping the eerily tall figure in the corner of you eye. They had shifted their head again, and you could see the fuzzy outline of many shiny black oozing sockets winking at you.
“Can you please stop that?”
A dark chuckle makes your skin creep, crossing your arms uncomfortably. “Oh?” A deep amused voice chimes in, “You don’t like my new face? That’s a pity, this is one of my favorites. Let’s see. . . perhaps this is more to your liking?”
You grimace, regretting turning your head just a fraction. You should have known better, even dealing with their games for so long, you still dupe yourself into looking. Their head resembles that of something from one of your recent nightmares. Face gouged out and filled with a bloody maw of teeth. You squint at them and shake your head, “If you keep doing this, I promise I am going to stop visiting you.”
“Really? You say that every night,” they raise their multiple spidery arms, skeletal fingers sweeping around the dark space “and yet, here we are again, you and I. Now, I may have gotten the wrong impression, but I do believe. . . you must enjoy my company, to visit my humble abode so often~”
“Yeah. Humble, creepy hospitals, and abandoned bloody houses are really homey–” You turn and blink, started by the new face in front of you.
“Wow. . . and for a second there, I thought you looked normal.”
“It’s as close to human as I can get.”
You stare back at the face of. . . well. . . a human, male nor female, young nor old. The features are uncanny, the longer you look, the more wrong it looks. You choose to drag your eyes away from the face to stare back into pitch black eyes and scrunch your nose, “I think I preferred the clown last week.”
Their expression only shows a hint of emotion as their thin lips purse into a smirk. “Really? I am sure I can oblige.”
You roll your eyes as you walk past them, hands out to try and feel the air around you. You’ve had enough of them picking on you, time to look for an exit and get out of creeper town. “I’m sure you can.” You snarked offhandedly over your shoulder.
In the new nightmare you had fallen into tonight. It was a dark office, with a single flickering overhead light that swayed ominously. Casting garish patches of light and shadow that left too much to the imagination. Was the room a small cramped space? A tight squeeze that was getting smaller by the second? Or a large vast emptiness that had only arranged itself into this single office space? You couldn’t tell, and didn’t dare try to make sense of it.
They sit down on top of the large office desk, the centerpiece of this shadowy room. Crossing one leg over the other, watching your arms flail around as you get closer to the abyss in front of you. The guttering swinging light wasn’t helping you get a sense of direction.
“That way will just lead you into the labyrinth~ I don’t think you want to go that way~” They heckled cheerfully as you grow impatient, doing your best to ignore them, as you look for a way out. Though, finally, you turn your head to glare at them. A part of you wanting to snap, ‘then tell me how to get out of here!’
You jump as they are suddenly too close to you, “I told you,” they murmur with amusement, a long fingered hand running over your scalp. “There’s only one way to get out of my labyrinth~ You have to ask nicely~”
Fingers slip under your chin, gripping your cheeks and turning your face up towards them. Glaring at the black pools that crinkle with amusement.
Eyes shift, biting your lip, “. . .Please,” You feel their presence getting closer and closer, their face looming inches from yours as they tilt your chin up, as they lean down.
A breath, a whisper of frosty breath ghosting your face.
“That’s exactly what I wanted to hear. <3”
They lean in further, still squishing your cheeks with their long spindly hand holding you in place.
You awake with a start in a cold sweat. Clutching your chest, fingers curling into a tight fist. You could still feel the sensation of those frozen lips on yours. . .
