Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah is partnering with Canyon Media for a Donation Day + LIVE Radio Remote in St. George on Friday, February 27, from 10 AM to 4 PM. The goal is simple and ambitious: collect 1,000 pounds of gently used donations in a single day to support youth mentorship programs across Southern Utah.

One of the best things about being a volunteer mentor is spending quality time with your Little. And what better way to bond than by getting crafty? Here are a few Thanksgiving-theme craft ideas to do with your Little:

1. Make a turkey out of handprints: This one is perfect for younger Littles. All you need is some construction paper, paint, and googly eyes. Have your Little dip their hands in paint and make hand-prints on the construction paper. Once the paint is dry, add googly eyes and a beak to turn the handprints into a turkey.

2. Decorate pumpkins: This is a classic fall activity that can be tailored to any age group. Try painting or drawing on the pumpkins if you're working with younger Littles. Older Littles might enjoy carving pumpkins or using them as vases for fall flowers.

3. Make a Thankful Tree: This is a great activity leading up to Thanksgiving. Cut out paper leaves and write things you're thankful for on each leaf. Then, add the leaves to a tree branch or construction paper. As the leaves accumulate, your Thankful Tree will remind you of all the things you are thankful for.
