Kristen Stewart visited The Black Jaguar-White Tiger™ Foundation on Nov 20 2017 in Mexico
The Black Jaguar-White Tiger™ Foundation is accredited by the Mexican Government as a Premises or facilities managing wildlife. They are the only sanctuary in Mexico for big felines rescued from all over the country. The rescued felines go through 3 stages of of rehabilitation. Stage 1 is the nursery equivalent. If animals are rescued at a young age, they are properly cared for in a smaller home setting where they can be constantly monitored and fed every couple of hours with a more friendly weather. Stage 2 and 2b consist of 120 acres of land (they have only built 30) for their babies to run freely and safely without harming one another or risking danger. Stage 3 is coming soon. It will be hundreds of acres for their babies to live their lives happily, free of poachers, and safe from the other dangers and threats that society has placed on the environment.
None of their rescues have ever set foot into the wild because humans forced them into lives of captivity since birth. So they will never be sent back to the wild (yet). They do not breed or sell the animals.
The Foundation has rescued and cares for over 295 (and counting) big felines including lions, jaguars, tigers, leopards, lynxes, pumas and servals from a life of abuse in circuses, zoos and breeders, both legal and illegal ones. The Foundation has also rescued more than 60 Dogs, mostly from the street.
