I visited Miwa Shrine in Sakurai, Nara. A friend invited me for a stroll, so I walked the grounds and paid my respects to the great sacred tree.

Sometimes I just want to show reality as it is.

岩部（いわぶ）八幡神社の夫婦大銀杏。夫婦ですが、どちらも雌株（めかぶ）でギンナンの実がなります。時代を先駆けてLGBTQフレンドリーなシンボルツリーと言えるかもしれません。香川県指定の天然記念物、樹齢約600年。 A couple of large ginkgo trees at Iwabu Hachiman Shrine. Although they are a married couple, both are female plants (mekabu) and bear ginkgo nuts. It could be considered a symbolic LGBTQ-friendly tree ahead of its time.
