doesn’t it make sense? like, john can’t see past the end of his nose, he has no concept that he’s depriving his boys of their cultural ancestry, and while dean remembers the time before that when his mom would make shabbat every week & take him to shul on the high holidays, sam has no memory of that time, so it’s honestly easier for him to reconnect with judaism later in life than it is for dean :(
