tragically, I haven't done any fancy Cassian gifset this year, but I do love this set from 2x01 because he looks sooooooo good here with dirt on his face

oh my god so many but the first ones that come to mind for Cassian re Jyn is her predeliction for stealing his things. or, well, borrowing his things i guess i should say. she has absentia like a motherfucker, but she never loses track of his stuff when she 'borrows' it. this could be a blaster, a coat, a scarf, a slicing tool, etc etc.

Jyn re Cassian loves how he is just around. like, constantly right behind her, beside her, always in her orbit when they're together, especially on mission, but never opressive or overly protective. supportive. bracing. it makes her feel deeply powerful and safe. (that's probably a bit more than 'adorable' eh? hmmmm i imagine she really loves that he frowns whenever he's trying to concentrate lol.)

🍳 Who cooks & who sets off the smoke alarm trying to help?

i mean.... cassian is the cook and jyn tries, she really does... at least at first because she feels like she owes them, but eventually he begs her to stop because he cannot stomach another burnt whatever the hell and the fire extinguisher is empty.

This is one of my oldest wips. I work on it sparingly when I’m in the mood, but it’s full romcom vibes. They are rival sales associates, and when he wins a pitch for a big job over her, he sees how crushed she is and tries to figure out how to make it up to her. He agrees to masquerade as her partner when she goes to visit her uncles Baze and Chirrut for Christmas and of course they will fall in love!! Omg!!

Blah blah blah jargon. Blah blah buzzword. It’s fully chaotic and I’m very excited to finish it 😂

the roman fantasy !! it's my current big original idea born out of my need to see more ancient fantasy settings and love for rome but very much still in the planning stages. i wrote a really cool prologue though.

the plot structure itself is my biggest struggle right now, but in concept it's about a vestal virgin and a gladiatrix and their respective magics (gifts from the gods in this world - each god can give someone a gift/magic but only one person at a time can have it). i just had this idea of a vestal virgin who had to eat the sacred fire at the behest of vesta and so her magic is fire lol, and the gladiatrix can heal people bc it was a fun juxtaposition! contemplating a third mc because i love a trio, but waiting to see how the plot shakes out (but they'd be a charioteer if so). i have been doing a deep dive research on roman religion (NOT greco-roman as a whole) in the process lmao. there's probably gonna be mythical creatures bc i have a fun idea with a gryphon and the gladiatrix. and they're gonna fall in love. the girls, i mean, not the monsters LMAO. lesbian vestal virgin with fire powers was literally my starting point for the whole thing 🤌only in antiquity terms of sexuality.

the percabeth exchange program is a fic i started after i got back from greece! it was a fun little au about annabeth and piper vacationing in greece and they meet percy who is there visiting his dad on crete, and it was just an excuse for me to write rom com shenanigans in a place i fell in love with. while piper is studying abroad in france, annabeth was studying abroad in rome and having a Really Bad Time so they venture off to crete & athens to catch a break. it's like 10k right now LOL but i haven't touched it in a hot minute. i planned for three parts: crete, athens, rome! only the crete part is mostly finished.

26. What's something the character has done you can't get over? Be it something funny, bad, good, serious, whatever?

there are so many moments i could name, but i think for this, i will have to go back to the start — or at least the start of my history with the character. like a lot of modern comic readers, my introduction to rich was the annihilation event from 2006, which really, in essence, is his story. you see how he witnesses something horrific (the destruction of xandar by the annihilation wave), how that event affects him in terms of not only its trauma but also how he is irrevocably changed in his physical body (as the last nova, he has to take on the entire nova force, which we come to later learn changes his literal physiology just to carry it to the point that he will literally die without it), how he has to rise to the occasion.

and so i bring us to the final confrontation of the event, when he heads off with main villain annihilus. he seals off his friends who had come with him and confronts annihilus alone — and not only that, he also defeats him by ripping his guts out his throat, like so:

and then this fucker, weakened and near death from this fight, sees a manifestation of actual death, and says, "better luck next time" just before he collapses.

he is recklessly and self-destructively self-sacrificing and completely fucking unhinged. and i love him for that! i'm never over it.

28. If you could have this character meet another in another media, who would you have them meet?

tbh, really want to put him in a room with cassian andor and watch what happens next, and not just because they're both my blorbos. it's not that rich isn't willing to do a murder when it's necessary (see above), but BOY do they have very different ideas and proclivities about it — rich is a lethal force only when it's absolutely necessary kind of guy, whereas cassian is the human personification of the "and i started blasting" meme and the "i won't hesitate bitch" vine. they would probably argue, a lot, because they're both the universe's most stubborn motherfucker. at some point they're probably arguing about who gets to sacrifice themselves lmfao

but also — underneath all this, they have a lot in common. they've both lost their sense of home; cassian can't go back literally, rich can't go back metaphorically. they both feel an intense amount of guilt for feeling like they failed their younger sibling. they're both better leaders than they give themselves credit for, and also aren't fully aware of the effect they actually have on people. and they both just want to leave their galaxy a better place than they found it.

anyway that turned into a whole essay, so i'll stop this there.
