Lobotomy Room Goes to the Movies is the FREE monthly film club downstairs at Fontaine’s devoted to Bad Movies We Love (our motto: Bad Movies for Bad People), specialising in the kitsch, the cult and the queer! In honour of Pride this month we’re taking you on a journey deep into the fetishistic Leather Jacket Jungle with a double-bill of sexy homoerotic biker classics: Kenneth Anger’s notorious underground occult masterpiece Scorpio Rising (1963) AND swaggering young Marlon Brando in motorcycle gang / juvenile delinquent exploitation movie The Wild One (1953)! (Yes – the one where Brando is asked, “What are you rebelling against, Johnny?” and he snarls, “"Whaddaya got?“). So, don your Levis, leather and chains and join us Wednesday 18 July!
Doors to the basement Bamboo Lounge open at 8 pm. Film starts at 8:30 pm prompt. Arrive early to grab a seat and order a drink! We can accommodate 30 people maximum. First come, first serve! Scorpio Rising is 28-minutes long and The Wild One is 79-minutes long, so even though it’s a double bill it should comfortably finish circa 10:30 pm. Note: the film is FREE so that you can buy more cocktails!
