how can you support a party that wants to legalize conversion therapy

That is a misconception the PPC never supported conversion therapy. We opposed Bill C-4 because it went way beyond preventing abuse and coercion. The bill was written so broadly that it could punish any form of counselling or discussion that isn’t fully affirming even if the person themselves asked for it.

Everyone should agree that harmful practices should be illegal. The issue is that Bill C-4 blurred the lines between abuse and personal choice, and PPCers wanted clearer wording to protect that freedom.

Anyway, the goal wasn’t to defend conversion therapy but to ensure that Canadians especially LGBT Canadians could talk openly in order to make informed decisions.

"Federal scientists, doctors, geologists and other professionals who have never been on a picket line are going on 'mobilization' and strike training so they’ll be ready if contract negotiations with the Conservative government hit an impasse."
