1. Your favorite female directors?

Wow this made me realize just how few female directors I know. That's pretty sad. Well okay, I'm going to go with Sofia Coppola, Kathryn Bigelow, and Sarah Polley. I've also got a soft spot for Nora Ephron but shhh don't tell anyone that I sometimes watch romantic comedies.

2. What made you fall in love with film?

My pa showing me his favorite movies (especially Midnight Cowboy and The Godfather). When I first watched The Godfather I understood like 2% of the plot, but it still blew my mind and showed me how intelligent and complex films can be. Midnight Cowboy crushed my soul and proved to me that film can be a really really personal and emotional art form.

3. Which is your favorite film decade?

I'm going to cheat and say the 1960s for international film and the 1970s for American film. I feel like nothing can top the innovation and brilliance of those two decades (in terms of cinema).

4. Favorite movie soundtrack?

I have a few favorites, but I think it's safe to say my all-time favorite is the Harold and Maude soundtrack. Cat Stevens is the man.

5. Favorite movie quote?

"Fuck me gently with a chainsaw, do I look like Mother Teresa?" -Heathers

6. If you could’ve worked in any film production, which film would’ve been? 

Pierrot Le Fou, so I could make eye contact with Anna Karina and then die a happy man.

7. Favorite Mexican films? *winks*

Pan's Labyrinth, Cronos, Santa Sangre, Amores Perros. *winks back*

8. If you could have dinner with 3 people who would they be?

Anna Karina and two clones of Anna Karina (but if cloning is out of the question then replace those two with Bill Murray and David Lynch).

Oh yeah, some of the 11th grade English classes at my school read it but I wasn't in those classes. Tragic is my kind of adjective for books so I'm sure I'll love it. I'm pretty sure I own the movie on DVD also so I can watch that afterwards maybe. Thanks!!!

Anything by Cormac McCarthy (also conveniently most turned to movies), also Atonement by Ian McEwan. ...apparently I only read movie books too.

Oooo he wrote No Country for Old Men right? That seems like it would be a cool book. Atonement is one of those movies I never saw but everyone else in the world has, so reading the book would be a good first step. I will read both! thanks!
