When I was growing up, my family would go on vacation to this little old cabin resort on a lake every August in the Adirondacks. One of my favorite memories from those times is staying up late stargazing on the docks with the friends I made there; we’d bring a bunch of blankets and pillows with us and snuggle up as we looked for shooting stars, constellations, etc.
alstroemeria - dream vacation?
Iceland or New Zealand. There are so many beautiful landscapes in both places that I’ve been dying to see!
I’m full of salt for many fandoms so it was difficult to pick just one! This got... long.
1) What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?*
Honestly? All of the F!pc/M!Li videogames pairings where one of them is “sweet, innocent and a cinnamon roll that can’t do no wrong and is utterly helpless” (we all know it’s always the female character, she also might or might not wet her bed!) paired with a “badass” character that must show her the “true ways of the world”. I’m so over it. It’s not cute nor romantic, but creepy and sexist.
Then there’s this small, old fandom of mine, Martin Mystery (I was really into the series as a teen) where everyone, literally almost everyone, ships him with his stepsister and I just CAN’T stand it. I think is gross, even if they aren’t blood related, they still grew up together and treat each other as siblings.
2) Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?*
Shakarin for Mass Effect. I like Garrus well enough, and I love the friendship he has with my Shepard, but I just can’t see them as anything else but friends.
I also can’t see Jaal/F!Ryder as anything but as a BroTP. I guess I’m just too attached to Vetra as my canon love interest.
3) Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?
Oh yes… But it has to be a TERRIBLE opinion. Outright homophobic, sexist, racist or misogynistic. Or being a Caesar’s Legion fan (so sexist, racist and misogynistic :P) all them can burn for all I care. Sorry not sorry.
4) Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?*
Yes,I have a lot of NoTPs! Most of my NoTPs are the fandom juggernaut pairing too. The funny thing is that most of them used to be my OTP or just something I didn’t mind, with the exception of some juggernaut pairings that I never liked and never will:
The F!Sole survivor/ANY of the male love interests with the exception of Preston (Fallout 4). This is mostly “fandom ruined it for me” territory I guess.
Bishop/Kalach-cha (NWN2). Yes, fandom, the asshole misogynistic ranger who tries to kill you is so hot!
Charon/F!LW (Fallout 3) gross in any way, shape or form. Charon is basically your slave no matter how much the fandom likes to ignore it. Also, no, I don’t care how “pure, innocent and childlike” your LW is.
Cullen/Any mage
F!Dragonborn/Vilkas (Skyrim)
Loghain/Any elven character. He sold elves into slavery. (And I really, really hate him)
F!Courier/Any of the Caesar’s Legion characters.
Corso Riggs/F!Smuggler. Get outta here with your chauvinist non-sense, Corso.
5) Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?*
Oh, fandom ALWAYS ruins pairings for me. This is why lately I just don’t get involved, nor search for fan creations unless they come with a recommendation from my fandom friends (I trust their taste). The list is long but off the top of my head:
Valen Shadowbreath/Female PC. I want to thank the author of “Where Darkness Resides” for single-handedly ruining the pairing for me. Truly, your romance between Valen “That wench is stupid but so naive and that’s like so hot” Shadowbreath and Jen “Oh no, he’s angry and violent and I’m scared and helpless in front of him, but he’s hot and tortured so is okay” Aloman is the romance of the century.
F!Bhaalspawn/Xan. There’s just so much “I love your childlike purity and will put you in a pedestal and not treat you as a person, so you can soothe my mainpain” bullshit I can take before wanting to barf all over my monitor.
Solavellan. Nuff said. I can’t stand 98.9% of the fandom nor the way they write both of them.
6) Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?*
Not really! Maybe made me like a pairing I was indifferent at first or hadn’t even thought about it, usually rarepairs, but once I hate something I hate it forever :P
7) Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?*
Fandom itself! I’ve been doing fandom for 15 years now, more or less, and I’m just tired of seeing the same arguments over and over again, tried of the misogyny, the racism, the homophobia and of the same discourse… of fandom going backwards with their “representation”. I’m so done with the weaponized femininity shit and the infantilization of characters who are adults, with the strict gender roles and how we’re supposed to be find them “progressive”, with “vulnerability” as radical praxis, with brown female characters being draw like blobs because all woc like me are “short and chubby and hairy”…
billowsandbreeze replied to your post “Going into the ACOWAR tag:”
My favorite part was the racist s*lavellan bnf unironically criticizing and giving advice on how sjm can improve her writing. XD But yeah, that fandom is a mess.
Hahaha yes that was... something else XD Yes, please racist bnf whose character only exist to further manpain or be the token “perverted bisexual”, tell me how this character deserved better! So wise...

Diablo is one of those games where the gameplay is what really hooked me. It’s just a lot of fun, I love running through levels and killing everything in every corner lmao. Trying out different classes and seeing what each one can do is also great and it’s what brings me back to the game every so often. Every time I’ve gone back to the game and played it for short periods of time, I’ve enjoyed it.
The writing is. Well. It is what it is. It’s goofy and predictable and has potential to be better. But that’s sort of what I came to expect from Blizzard and one of the game’s endearing qualities lol.
Greatest thing of all is that this is the game that started our regular game nights <3 So it’s another that I consider to be very special.
Camp NaNo! It was such a great experience that really helped me get a better idea of how I want to shape my original universe. I also really want to travel again. I love visiting friends and seeing new places, and want to do even more of that.
14. Favorite book you read this year?
I’ve said it a hundred times by now I’m sure, but The Expanse series by James S. A. Corey. Gonna be totally honest with you, I barely read any other books this year lmao, but this is a great series.
