RIP Legendary singer @realbillwithers (#singer / #songwriter ) of songs like “Lean on Me”, “Lovely Day” and “Ain’t no Sunshine (when she’s gone)” among others. He probably doesn’t remember this but I discovered Bill Withers through my animator buddy @aaronblaiseart We we’re making the film #Mulan (he was animating #Yao, but also did the main #ancestor with @georgehtakei ‘s voice). We were animating the shots where #Mushu (that was my part) is arguing with the Great Ancestor (who grabs him and throws him out of the temple) and it was one late evening, during overtime that I visited his office and he had the “Best of Bill Withers” CD playing. I realized I knew and loved every single song! He let me borrow that CD and I played it over and over again for weeks. As crazy as it sounds, whenever I hear Bill Withers’ music, I think of a certain sassy Asian dragon and my friend Aaron. Tag Aaron so he sees this.
