UNSUB
Everett Lynch, the Chameleon, is not able to scare me. If I have to define the sensation that he provokes me, it's disgust.
A man who takes away the face of another human being? Splatter. And it's sounds like déjà vu. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974).
And there was even another Criminal Minds's episode that had an unsub who did the same, but I can't remember which, in this moment.
And in both cases fear wasn't my first thought, honestly.
I feel nostalgia for the old times, with unsubs like The Reaper (Omnivore, 4x18, Nameless, Faceless, 5x1, Outfoxed, 5x8, 100, 5x9), Mr Scratch (Mr Scratch, 10x21; The Storm, 11x22; The Crimson King, 12x1; Mirror Image, 12x7; Wheels up, 13x1) and the Prince of the Darkness (Our Darkest Hour, 5x23; The Longest Night, 6x1). These are my favorite villains, and the ones I remember easier. The scarier.
If I had to choose just one... I would have said Scratch, before seeing episode 13x1, where they, in my opinion, made a big mistake, if they didn't want to get that effect. Making Scratch begging Luke to help him, to save his life... In a way so... Scarce... Was weird.
From the mysterious creature he seemed, the one who scared people using their own childish fears, he turned in a ordinary man, a little man.
And I was a bit disappointed.
All my ramblings
