Binding Freedom AU / Retainer Florian Au: In this universe, Florian greatly felt the weight that came with feeling like everyone depended on him. Exhausted and stressed, he sought out Pecharunt and became one of its most prized retainers after begging for stability. To be honest he actually seems less stable.

The bag on his back, chained to his body, carries immense amounts of binding mochi. Retainer Florian is addicted to eating these due to the effects of the poison on his mind, but also acts as a “carrier” for Pecharunt’s possession by leaving the mochi in open spaces or offering it to others.

Another question, hope you don't mind but... Just how dangerous can Retainer Florian get? Is he that dangerous enough to kill someone or... You just don't want to get on his bad side?

Hmmmm. I don’t think he’s dangerous enough to kill.. at least not intentionally. He could very well cause someone harm if he gets reckless or loses track of his strength or body coordination. Because he can get very physical!

So I’d say a mix of “don’t get on his bad side” and “the chances of being brought near death by him are very slim, but it’s recommended you protect yourself”, especially if you’re in a risky position (ex. You would NOT want to be stuck high up in one of Kitakami’s more mountainous areas with him there)

Okay, so just how crazy can Retainer Florian get?

Oooh, since he’s a recent addition you’re givin me something to think about (which GREAT I love these kinds of questions because it super helps me with developing these AUs!!!!). Let me try and gather my thoughts here, and let ya know if this is confusing, it’ll make more sense as I develop things.

So as we know, when the mochi makes someone a retainer, it has a different effect. It draws out that persons desires and transforms their personality (and even appearance) based on them. Florian desires stability and freedom.

In his search for this stability and freedom, these are some details I’ve settled on so far:

- Drove Ogerpon away and made her stay with others, though this was partially influenced by Pecharunts command. Because the situation with Ogerpon in Kitakami caused him instability.

- Released Miraidon into Kitakami, because he now saw it as a cause for a majority of his issues. Arven’s definitely going to have some thoughts on this…

- Pushed away anyone who’s requested anything hefty of him. This includes Penny, Arven, and Carmine. But excludes Kieran and Nemona, because he feels they asked the least of him. (Why Kieran? You ask. Kieran’s definitely put strain on him! Well… Florian thinks that because he no longer has Miraidon or Ogerpon, that all is now well. It is not. Kieran is very upset about this and feels it is undermining everything they went through. Even when he knows this isn’t the real Florian.)

Florian acts as Pecharunt’s “carrier”, so to speak. He’s constantly lugging around a backpack full of poisonous mochi and trying to offer it to people. However, if he likes someone, they’ll be one of his main targets to either feed mochi or capture and bring to Pecharunt for the sake of them becoming a retainer too (or just to “keep” them). This unfortunately means Kieran and Nemona are active targets, and no doubt Nemona is definitely at higher risk than Kieran is, because she’s loyal to a fault when it comes to Florian and Juliana. Chances are she will be the first vulnerable.

When he eventually decides to start targeting the people he dislikes, it’ll be because he thinks they need to “repay” him for the help he offered when sober. (I can’t think of any other word to use. Also partly applicable because he’s highly addicted to eating the mochi, since it gives a sort of body and mind numbing effect when he starts questioning things. Pecharunt encourages this also since it keeps him under its control)

Getting to crazy.. If someone starts frustrating or upsetting him enough he WILL chase, or even HUNT them down. Which is part of why I made that drawing of him being distracted by the pretty lights. It’s basically their best bet at a survival tactic if they get cornered. When the others figure this out, it’s now generally recommended for people to keep something pretty (specifically shiny, glowy, or sparkly) on them at all times, or utilize Pokémon moves with similar effects
