"If I wish it hard enough, then I’m sure a romantic love interest will sweep me up off my feet just like the movies do."
Description
After studying hard for their final exams (SPM) in Malaysia, Col managed to get the chance to further their studies overseas and say goodbye to the land of the hornbills (Sarawak, a state in East Malaysia) to take on their dreams of majoring in Law.
Despite the excitement to leave their home, especially with their somewhat strained and bittersweet relationship with their parents, they won’t lie and say they didn’t miss the atmosphere back home than that of New York. The freedom to express themselves and do whatever they want does help with the homesickness, but being the odd one out sometimes feels lonely.
Getting roomed with Deja and meeting Cameron did help ease the nerves, soon enough, their ability to adapt in any circumstance kicks in and they’re able to go through university life just fine. However, that doesn’t stop their imaginative mind from wondering if this is finally the time they can get a love life starting after years of waiting.

Academic Standpoint - Explained by Cameron
Despite not standing out in class due to his quietness and stand-offish way at first glance, he’s very attentive and does his work almost immediately as it is done. Reports and essays are written neatly and in a proper way even if English is mostly a second language and this is his first time in an English speaking country. That aside, certain assignments that require creative flair is his strongpoints and he becomes a trump card for groups when an illustrator or art direction is needed. He’s very good at memorizing too!
Active Standpoint - Explained by Reynah
Deja often brings him along because he’s generous enough to help with any art related projects, it’s truly a passion for him to be involved in anything creative. Although he doesn’t join anything specifically, helping out anybody he can is his thing. Being tied down to a specific organization just hinders his time and also his own schedule (Literally, he loves making schedules).
Fashion Standpoint - Explained by Deja
It can be said that he dresses alt, but some days it’s a mix of academia type of clothing. His layering depends on the season and coming from a tropical country, his tolerance to heat is way more than others sometimes. He likes other colors, but black is convenient and fits everything, hence the darker aesthetic. At home or on quick snack runs at night, he’s usual in shorts or a jersey or something completely mismatched.
Character Relationships
— Cameron Molinares (addressed as Cam) —
Both of them have trouble in terms of socializing, but Col gets boosts of confidence sometimes especially if she notices someone having the same interests as her. Being anime fans, they’re often each other’s go-to news reporter for any conventions or anime events nearby.
— Deja Lamarre (addressed as Deja/Dee) —
If Deja never greeted her at all, there’s a huge chance she would’ve not spoken to her roommate whatsoever. However, they’ve become quite close, perhaps like siblings. Although being the older one, Col sees Deja as more mature and inspiring, quite like an older sister.
— Reynah Dioquino (addressed as Reynah) —
They’re currently at a co-worker type of friendship, only ever seeing each other if they need to see each other. Col does find Reynah as a comfort person secretly, especially because they’re both SEAsians.
— Percy Tozaki (addressed as Percy/Perce) —
Col falls for people on first meeting, it’s usually infatuation at most but this is the second time in her life that it became an actual crush after getting to know him a bit more. Crush aside however, both of them are quiet observers and Col feels happy being around someone as attentive as he is even if he doesn’t show it. They watch others, but they’re also each others’ eyes.
— Jamie Porter (addressed as Jamie) —
Appreciating silence and perhaps a bit of bossa nova in the background, Col likes hanging out with Jamie quietly. They’re often doing two different things in the same room and sometimes if she has questions, she’ll ask him. Both of them would exchange books sometimes to read and discuss about.
— Elio Kealoha (addressed as Elio) —
Worried about whether or not they’ll get along, Col thought he would find her boring (alas, she thinks negatively every time so this wasn’t new) especially because she doesn’t like sports nor does she compete often. Despite that, Elio is someone she’s not afraid to share her thoughts with because he always listens and answers, and if Deja and Cam are around, both of them talks often during the discussion.
Nic’s Extra Info
Col’s relationship with their parents are strained, specifically with their father. Although they count as a ‘complete’ family, they’re not exactly a happy one. They’re mostly close with their older brother and sister, but no one in their family knows that they’re queer. Being in Wryn Mayer is the first time they’re officially out openly.
The only crush they had failed after pining and getting to know the guy for 3 years, they’re a huge lover person, drawing and writing for their crush. However, he played with their feelings and was a huge player in general. They got over him quick after knowing that, but they did cry over it at first.
They are transmasc and greyromantic. They don’t really have a label specifically for their gender other than that, but leans more towards agender and doesn’t have a preference for any gender when it comes to who they like. Them liking anyone romantically is very rare in general too, which makes it harder for them to move on if they do have a crush.
Nic’s note: They’re mostly a self-insert, some parts are exactly me and some parts are partial. In order to know, you can only ask yours truly to see if it was an IRL experience or one I made to cater to Col as a character :P
The formatting of this was actually from Assassination Classroom’s character profile that I modified lol
Dr Nyarlethotep-ish question: What are your thoughts on how time-lords *really* look?
I don’t hold much with the idea that Time Lords’ humanoid forms are a “glamour” in a conventional sense. Certainly they can also take blatantly inhuman forms, but these are no more true or false than the human guise.
However, I feel quite strongly for the implication in several official stories that they’re not actually made of conventional flesh, they just make it look that way.
In fact Time Lords are made out of strands of sheer biodata, woven very finely into a humanoid puppet by the Looms, and constantly using their Observer Effect to at all times assert themselves as physical beings with weight, volume and mass.
Both of @rassilon-imprimatur‘s Faction Paradox stories show a dying Homeworlder literally unravelling into strands of “silvery biodata”, which both suggests this interpretation of preclisely what the “looms” do (they’re very literal looms, guys) and confirms the interpretation that this thing in The Name of the Doctor…
…really is what is left of the Doctor in the end. Theoretically you could feed this straight back into a loom and reweave a new Time Lord out of it, who would in some cosmic sense be the Doctor’s reincarnation — not unlike how the Other was reloomed into the Doctor.
The John Simm Master’s resurrection in The End of Time is surprisingly consistent with this notion: we see his body slowly reforming out of spiraling strands of glowy timey-wimey… stuff, extracted in part from the Master’s “imprint” or “biometrical signature” as recovered from Lucy Saxon.
