Hungry after school? The Crazy Apple is located across the street from Marshall Fundamental Secondary School. Their focus is on Mexican style snacks, including bionicos, fresas con crema, esquites, tostilocos, mangoneadas, chamoy candy gummies, crazy cucumber, choco banana, caramel apples, hot chips with cheese, waffles, shakes, smoothies, etc. It’s a small shop but they have a wide range of snacks. The owners are from Guadalajara, Jalisco and Tepic, Nayarit.
Esquites ($6): Took over 20 minutes to get these (there were no other customers) but she said it took time to heat up. Hmm. Anyway, the actual corn in a cup was pretty good but saltier than average. It was made with lots of mayo, butter (probably margarine?) and cheese (the good stuff) with a bit of spicy heat. The corn kernels were small and sweet. It wasn’t too soupy.
I think they had ice cream before but the ice cream case was empty. You can call and place your order and they’ll bring it to your car. Credit cards accepted.
