i'm not bi myself, so lmk if i'm overstepping, but personally i really dislike the phrase "they're at least bi"? it implies that being gay is somehow more queer than being bi, that being bi is somehow less than. it reminds me of the whole "half straight, half gay" thing, like as if bi is onky halfway to being queer while gay is actual proper queer and part of the lgbtq+? i don't know, it might just be me, but it sounds biphobic to me the more i think about it

I should probably comment on the Rowan biphobia incident...except I don’t think those tweets were biphobic at all soooooooooooo if you want to have a conversation, my inbox is open 🤷🏾

(And maybe I should state my biases? I’m a bisexual woman who follows the two people who made the supposedly biphobic tweets. One of them, Sarah Nicole Prickett, is a writer I really admire, and the other person, Andrea Long Chu, is a theorist whose writing has taught me a lot about gender and sexuality 🤷🏾)

This is Cee Gee with another musing... Here is the impression on how queer perceptions and biphobia or its impact on it has evolved/devolved. (Disclaimer: Although I only mention celebs, I have seen this with average joes too) For men: If they are not cool enough for you for any reason and date lots of women, they are queerbaiting. Why? because if they were cool enough or something else enough, you would accuse them of bearding constantly (EG Harry Styles vs... I don't know if I should pull these names, but Leonardo DiCaprio? Tom Cruise?). I have wondered why most gays refuse to claim Harry Styles when others in his situation have been accused of bearding. I guess he became too much even for gay boards who like to claim every man to be gay (OK, I exaggerate. A little.) For Women: If they are cool enough and have been dating women for years (Saffron Burrows, Sarah Paulson, and the most famous, Kristen Stewart), or even stick to one woman long term after a lifetime of dating men (Cynthia Nixon*), they were lesbian all along. This, despite of the fact that they have (and some continue) to affirm that their attraction/relationships with men were genuine. And if they end up with men... Well "all bisexual women end up with men eventually." Trans? Essentially gay men, lost lesbians or they have to be called pansexual. Non-binary people: "What was your biological sex?" Or the sort.

I think my mom is avoiding the fact that I'm bi, like I told her several times and she just seems to, idk not acknowledge it?

And like, I don't think it's a homophobic thing cause my brother came out as gay a couple of years ago and she's always talking about it saying things like "I'm worried that people are going to bully him" or some other shit, but never says anything about my existence as a queer person, and the only time I've heard her talk about bisexuality was her saying it's only a "trend".

Like, is she biphobic or she just doesn't care about my bisexual ass?
