The Bira Box by RadioRPL is a handmade music box that plays one of five tracks, selected by a knob, in a loop. The boxes are named after the bira, a ceremony in which musicians play mbiras, traditional African thumb pianos, until ancestral spirits possess a medium and advise the community. The included songs are based on mbira music from Zimbabwe and were composed to be complete on their own, but also harmonious no matter how many boxes are playing at once, which track they’re playing, or when the tracks started in relation to each other. The music, slow-developing and relaxing, provides a beautiful soundtrack for everyone from babies to adults. The classic vintage styling of the Bira Box fits in anywhere, providing great accompaniment to your day. You can listen to the Bira Box whether you’re with friends or alone, whether you’re working or relaxing, to create a positive ambiance.
