Because there's A Lot going on right now, sometimes its nice to have some adjustable noise of your choosing, resonating in the background.

Lately my favorite mixture over at myNoise generators have been Twin Black Lodges (news about David Lynch reminded me about the generator) and mixing it with White Rain and/or Fireplace, but they have a HUGE index of all sorts of atmospheric sounds you can tweak and layer~

Do you have a playlist or anything for when you write Lilac Sweet?

Sort of.  I have a playlist on Apple Music of songs from YouTube MEPS for Voltron, like Beautiful Now, Everything Black, Dangerous, Home, ETC.  There’s a couple of other songs sprinkled in there like, Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do”, Fall-Out Boy’s ‘Champion’, or Starset’s ‘Monster’.  

Beyond that, I use a white noise synthesizer, which offers more than white noise.  The app I use is called “MyNoise”.  (It’s also a website!)

MyNoise lets me create the white noise that best fits for me and what I want. The App costs 10 dollars to unlock every generator, but all new generators will be free to download.  Generators cost 99 cents each, and you get well more than 10 different generators with the 10 dollar unlock.  

It has a variety of different noises that you can customize and combine.  There’s some generators with voice which I can put with an ocean generator to make mermaids singing. Or alternatively, there’s a coffee shop generator that I can pair with some rain and traffic.  

I used some of the static generators when I was writing the Static Chapter of “Lilac Sweet”.  I used an ocean generator when I was writing about scenes where Lance could hear waves.  

I also use it to block out the sound of my boss when he plays Robotech.  No offense to the show, but I can’t stand that one girl’s voice.  Like, her voice has given me headaches before.
