Tinker's father is an Earthblood mage and his mother is a Sunfire smith.
His parents are happily married but choose to live in their own respective territories for most of the year. They spend a few months of the year together and visit one another during the holidays and when they drop off Tinker.
That means that Tinker spends half the year with each of his parents.
His skills and talents as a craftsmen comes from the combination of the magics from his dual heritage, allowing him to create items and weapons the likes of which are very rare in Xadia.
Janai is his cousin and he was her favourite sparing partner when they were growing up. So while he's an artisan by trade he could hold his own in battle if the need ever arose.
His Earthblood family are famous mages and scholars so Tinker grew up learning about the history of all the elven races, their cultures, languages and beliefs.
Tinker is also a huge bookworm and nerd, traits that he inherited from his father.
From his mother he inherited his analytical mind, patience and, according to his father, her good looks.
His Earthblood family are very wealthy and are well respected throughout Xadia.
His Sunfire family are known for their resilience and courage in the most dire of situations.
Therefore he is the product of two very formidable and prestigious clans and he does everything he can to honour both.
While Tinker is connected to the Earth Arcanum he struggles with the flora and fauna branch and finds a greater connection to the Earth branch. As for his connection to the Sun Arcanum, Tinker finds he has less trouble and can connection to both sides of Sun magic easily.
Despite this difference in his connection to both his Arcanum's Tinker values both equally and never takes his connections to them for granted.
