I just decided that I'm going to close my shop for Imbolc tomorrow and spend the day in my craft/craft room and also take a nice long walk. I ALWAYS say this: I'm NOT Wiccan but I do love the Wheel of the Year as a way of taking notice of the seasons and changes. I also love having a reason for a celebration at certain intervals around the year.
That being said, Imbolc is my favorite. I regard it as the beginning of the year. It feel like the world is waking up and you can actually take notice of it and it doesn't get dark at 4pm anymore. On Imbolc my partner and I make candles for our Full Moon Dance nights (a sort of secular ritual we do to spend time with each other and listen to records together) so that will be fun. I also like to make a bunch of yummy food.
This year I'm going to put together the birch branch garland for the craft/craft room and there are these tiny LED star lights I want to weave in them. Birch is good for new beginnings so it all sounds great for a new room and the day I take to be the first day of the new year!
