after her help with christmas birch had moved to the top of his list of favorite people, which meant she was now in a four-way tie with maddie, jp, and aggie ( and the tie would probably continue to grow with time because maddox was incapable of actually listing these people in any sort of order of importance ).
jp was spending time with his brothers down at the bar and one of them had mentioned seeing birch in the gym so ducky had b-lined it in hopes of catching her. it had taken him a moment to find her in the crowd but he approached her with a soft smile and an outsretched hand. "you look beautiful." she'd probably heard that several times tonight, but ducky would always be happy to tell her once more. "do you want to dance?" despite their closeness as they swayed to the music there was only platonic love between them. maddox was quickly coming to see her as a sister and he hoped that she saw a brother in him as well.
"how do i thank you for all the help with christmas dinner? truly, i could not have pulled that off without you."
