Got more Bird Fables doodles done! Here we've got Tanjerin and Cerise, the best couple in the game, no contest. Look at these lovebirds!
Man, lately I'm just filled with ideas for Alternate Universe Bug Fables Final Bosses...
Everlasting King but it's Leif and the Sapling mixes with his Cordyceps and his Ice Magic (amplified by the crown) to turn hin into a freaky Ice-Plant-Moth-Mushroom monster...
Bird Fables ELK that has thorns/thornyvines coming off of him (referencing how Shrikes kill their prey using thorns and thistles)...
Aww yeah...
Hey, all, I’ve given the thought of Bug Fables Bugs as Birds for a while now, so here’s a decent list of my idea for what each species translates to!
Under the Keep Reading, because it’s kind of a lot.
I think I've said before that I wanted the Weevils in Bird Fables to be Wolves, and I think I'll still end up doing that. However, I've also just had the goofy idea of making them either Dinosaurs or Platypi.
More Bird Fables idears: non-Awakened Bugs are non-Bird Animals in this AU. One example, the Spider of Snakemouth Den is now actually a Snake (this idea was given by @/wingusmcdingus). The Peacock Spider is a Rattlesnake specifically.
Midges and the Broodmother could perhaps be Bats? That’s the only flying creature I can think of that’s not a Bird or a Bug. Instead of a bunch of eggs in the cave where the Broodmother was there could simply be lots of Bats hanging from the ceiling (and they’d fly away when she’s beaten).
I’m thinking of Weevils being Dogs or Wolves, while the Primal Weevil could be like a Werewolf or something. Kinda works out, since Weevils already howl and junk.
The Beast would be something that tends to hunt Kiwis. Maybe some sort of Wild Cat (something more dangerous than a Domestic Cat but less than, say, a Lion).
Mothflies could simply be Mice or Rats, with the False Monarch literally being a Rat King (that being not a singular creature but a bunch of Rats tied together by the tail). I’d also imagine it and the other False Citizens wearing outfits that almost make them look like birds, which is a concept I kinda like because the beak part of the costume can work well with their elongated snouts.
The way this idea sounds, it seems to change how the Awakening works a bit: while in-universe it seems to have mostly changed Bugs based on how resistant to radiation they were, in this AU it goes for Birds first because...of some reason, ha.
Finally got some rough Bird Fables doodles done (Bird Fables being this old AU I came up with ages ago ---->https://barbaracleboy.tumblr.com/post/684612020292796416/hey-all-ive-given-the-thought-of-bug-fables). Hopefully I can get more and better ones done in the future but for now have these. Team Snakemouth!
For a drawing I like even more, here we have Team Mothiva (Owliva?). I especially like how Zasp (Zawk?) came out.
And finally, Eetl. But a Kiwi.
