Had another common redpoll at the feeder today, probably because of the snow again. I’d only seen one once before over a decade ago and now I’ve seen two within a month!

A couple of days ago, I was reading that we might have an irruption year for Finches and Grosbeaks because Canada had a crappy crop this year. I heard that people have seen Evening Grosbeaks around here and a bit north from us, and was crossing my fingers. And what do you know? Just now, this beautiful bird stopped by in my yard! And Evening Grosbeak. I never have seen one before :D Happy irruption year! This winter might get very exciting! (Took the photos with my Canon, and I was nervous, so excuse the quality ;) )
