Bird Art Week Day 7

And now the finale of bird art week! The prompt was round birds and gosh, if that isn't lighting a bat signal with my name on it. My favorite round winter bird is the chickadee :) they make such adorable orbs!

Today is the last day of Bird Art Week 2022, and today’s prompt was “round birds.” This carving of a White-throated Sparrow by Bob Spear is a little rounder than some of his other carvings, as this bird is often seen in the winter in Vermont. When cold, birds fluff their feathers up to create an insulating layer between their body and the cold air. Bob Spear carved this bird in 1982 and it took him approximately 35 hours. Day 5 of Bird Art Week is "Birds of Prey". Great horned owl, because I am me and my love of owls is what got me into birding :)

Day 4 of bird art week was "Paddling Around" aka duck themed :) I chose to paint the green winged teal - they're a local bird and their colors are beautifully vibrant!

Cornell Birds is hosting a bird art week hashtag on twitter so twist my arm I guess I have to jump in :) Today's prompt is "Tis the Season" so this little robin is feeling VERY festive. Scream it out, little buddy!
