A Corny Post 🤣

I took this first picture yesterday before all the wildfire smoke rolled in. 💨

This is the corn crop that is planted next to me, just to the south. Compare this picture to the one I posted on July 4th. The corn is much higher in just two weeks. The reach of the top of my hand is just short of eight feet.

It has been very hot and dry here and a lot of corn leaves will curl up for some protection from the sun. When it rains, they will flatten back out. We are not due to get any rain here for two more days. There are no ears on these yet.

Today I had to go outside to get the mail and wash and fill the birdbath. 👇

The smoked has thinned a little bit since my shot yesterday in this same direction. This will be my only trip out until it’s time to water.
