For the ask game, I'm greedy! 8, 9, 13, 34, and 44, please? 👀🙏❤️
Thank you @birdkeeperklink!
8. Do you read WIPs?
Of course! If it's interesting enough and has me hooked, I'll definitely read it!
9. What is the longest fic you’ve read?
That isn't one of my own? /gentle self-deprecation All jokes aside, I think it was a 40 chapter Left 4 Dead 2 fic back in FF.Net that I can't remember the name but I know it was them living in a new safe city
13. Has a fic ever made you cry?
Y E S. Oh my god, yes! The most recent was Baconhawk81's finale fic to the Psychonatural series Murder Becomes Him. Fucking gutwreching, beautiful finale that I can't read again because it obliterates me. No spoilers but sobs.
34. Do you like UAs (universe-alterations, when the main universe and characters are the same but one plot point/decision/outcome is altered)?
Yes. Absolutely. More so if there are branching consequences to said alterations. Good shit.
44. How fluffy is too fluffy?
The moment that a character starts to feel like a cartoon character or a Hallmark movie version of themselves, I tap out. It takes a lot, it's rare, and it's on a case by case basis, but once it hits, I'm polevaulting out of there.
Thank you so much for these questions!
The only thing I can think of to ask is what's your fave Joan & Sherlock friendship moment on Elementary?
I hope your anxiety calms down ❤️
Thank you really much. That is a really good question because I needed to put a lot of thoughts into it
As someone who is allways told that she talks too much, it is not easy to show myself to hundreds of people. These days it is okay, but boy the mental scars bullying can have are hard to overcome. I am pushing as hard as I can these days because loneliness is worse then my anxiety
Anyways.... I think it is not a specific moment but what they say about each other when they are not around each other. That also goes for Marcus. The moment Sherlock says: „I would do everything for Marcus Bell“ had a deep I Pression on me. Or what Sherlock and Joan do for each other. The moment Sherlock finally hugged Joan back, was amazing!
But also what they say to each other when they are angry because then they often show their true heart and it is beautiful. The affection screaming can have. Love this show!
Top 5 Raymond moments, please, when you're feeling up to it!! 😘😘
1) “You are up early, little monk. Perhaps you are a spy.”
2) “How far do you think you can get?”
3) The evil eye over the Communion wine.
4) This scene always makes me think of him watching a woman:
5) His final fight with the Mute (even though the unthinkable happens)
BONUS: his facial expression here...
I would have included the torture scene, but that actually made me uncomfortable to watch, and not through the fact it was torture. But the monk crying to Jesus just sent shivers through me. Not good.
Anyway, I couldn’t include every second he was on screen, so here we are.
@birdkeeperklink tagged me to list six random facts about myself. Thank you! :)
I didn’t want to add to the original post because it was already super long and long posts are kinda annoying ‘xD
Okay so, six facts.
1. I don’t really like the Harry Potter franchise. I got into it for a while, years ago, but something always felt off for me. I think the only really honestly GREAT thing about Harry Potter is the fanfiction. Even while I still totally counted myself as a fan, I remember thinking: It’s like the books are only there to teach us the vocabulary, but the REAL THING is what the fans make of it. So yeah. I think the canon is disappointing in so many ways, but mainly I’ll always be bitter about the way JKR handled the four houses. There’s a text post somehwere on this site that says something like “ah yes, the four houses of hogwarts: brave, smart, evil and miscellaneous” - and like, that’s super funny, but it’s also very sad.
2. I keep coming back to an old computer game called Dungeon Siege. It’s... I’m not too savvy with genre names, but I think it’s a hack and slash RPG. (Although fans of “real” RPGs at the time used to grumble that it wasn’t worth the name, because there isn’t much plot, there aren’t many choices, and the lore is pretty bland.) I like it because it’s really fun to play. I like it because I know it very very well. I like it because it’s super pretty. The graphics might not overwhelm anybody these days, but I still think the trees are beautiful, and the snow, and the way it looks when you’re on a bridge and turn the camera down. I’m currently playing the main single player map for the ninth time, with my ninth character, who is called Frella, and she’s a combat mage :)
3. It was almost two years ago when I realised I am bisexual, and I’m still shy about counting myself as a part of the LGBT+ community. I mean as in, having the RIGHT to count myself as a part of it, you know? Just a couple of days ago, I was about to make an angry callout post about casually homophobic people who don’t realise they’re being homophobic, but while I was writing it, and writing things like “us” and “we”, I kept questioning my right to speak for the community like that. In the end I didn’t post it. Which is just as well, because anger isn’t exactly the best starting point for a blog post... But you know, I just wish I could be more confident. I AM a part of the community, whether I’m new or not, whether I know a lot about the history or not. But I guess I’ll stay a silent part for a while longer.
Ok I’ve run out of things I really wanted to get off my chest, so here are three more random random things:
4. My favourite food to cook and eat at home is italian, my favourite food to eat in a restaurant is chinese
5. My eyes don’t like web pages with white letters on a black background
6. When I happen to doodle stuff, it’s almost always a flower
For the salty asks! 2, 11, and 17? Any fandom you want 👀❤️
Hello there :D!
2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?
Already answered, so I'd like to twist the question: a popular OTP that constantly get presented as a Brotp AKA Sherlock Holmes/John Watson. People have been speculating over them pretty much since the original stories (Hello Sir A. C. Doyle: no we are not tired yet, sorry), and yet 80% of the major adaptations fall into the brotp category. At this point I'd pay for a blatant queer adaptation set in the original context.
11.Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?
Oh this is easy- Good Omens: my favourite characters are the demons. And it's not like I dislike the protagonists, they are perfectly lovely, I just find more interesting the secondary characters.
17. Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen…
Speaking of a fandom we have in common: Sir Tolkien, Kili and Fili were REALLY young. But I understand- war doesn't care if you are old or young, plus dying in battle to defend a member of your family is a common trope in epic literature, so in this scenario it would have been interesting to see Dis as Queen of Erebor (sense of duty? but also loathing because your whole family died for that mountain, it's a home but it feels like a grave).
Thanks for asking!
Happy birthday! 🥳 I hope you're having a lovely one!
Thank you. I am indeed. Had some gorgeous gifts this year and got plenty of time now to thoroughly enjoy it. Hope you’re well.
Handwriting ask: 20 and 38, please? 😊
