If Asbeth being 100 years old is somewhat akin to him being 20 in human years, he has at least 500 years of life expectancy.
And I'm pretty sure that Amecareth is older than that... And he's not a full ant.
Kira is implied to have a life expectancy at least in the 300s which makes no sense considering how old both her mom and Amecareth are, but it's not the worst fuckup there is in the book.
Anyway, Kira and Asbeth probably have similar life expectancies, while Asbeth's could be slightly slower since HIS mom wasn't as magical as Kira's.
Anyway what I'm saying is Asbeth has The Time to do bullshit if I want to do fanfic. Because he's at the very beginning of his adult life :) and since I'm the one writing fanfic i can totally say he can live for a thousand years because fuck canon

And then 300 pages later say "the ants don't have a concept of helping others and let Asbeth, badly wounded, get home without any help"
Ma'am you literally implied earlier that the hivemind made them more likely to help out especially in case of danger
