last and 2nd panel request! still the HS^2 but at page 302 (also known as the davekat kiss thing) and same peeps with Ajax and my Kidsona (you can sort of count this as a self-ship at this point) i'll send in some references on the clothes they will use :0
Here’s the book cover! Swipe for more pages of birds. Suitable for kids age 6-12, or anyone who just really loves birds. The story is about a dove who learns to dance to woo the distant moon. It celebrates the humour birds bring to us and the joy of standing out by being true to yourself.
It’s my first book and I’m very proud of it! Words by @jayarthursimpson who deeply understood the story I gave him, whose words flow beautifully from one page to the next. I had so much fun drawing all the birds’ expressions and getting to better know each species, I hope those who pick it up have as much fun reading it!

Image descriptions under the cut.
[image description: first image is the book cover. The title on top is Dance Me to The Moon in colourful font. In the centre is a bleeding heart dove, posing with a determined face. On her chest is a red heart shape. Behind her on a dark sky is a bright moon. She is surrounded by various birds, most of them coupled up. Credits include: Words by Jay Arthur Simpson. Story and art by Ang Hui Qing
Second image is a book spread. On the left page, the same bleeding heart dove is on a grassy ground. The moon is reflected in her wide eyes. The text reads: The dove longed with all her heart to dance with the moon.
On the right page, the dove is small, surrounded by assorted birds courting in trees, on the ground and in the river. The text reads: But she didn’t know how to dance!
Third image is a book spread, of a greater bird of paradise dancing across the pages while the dove tries to follow. On the right page, his bushy back feathers are in her face. She looks surprised and overwhelmed. Text on the left page reads: He puffed up his chest and bobbed and span but… Text on the right page reads: “You’re just showing off!” she said crossly. “No help at all.”
fourth image is a close up of a book page. A red manakin is doing a “moonwalk” dance across the white page as the dove tries out those moves and fails, much to her distress. The red manakin finishes with a flourish, shouting “Olé!” The text reads: But she couldn’t do this one either
Fifth image is a book spread. On the left page the dove is laying despondent on the ground. Assorted birds stare on with surprise. The text reads: “It’s hopeless,” she sighed. “I just can’t do it.” On the right page is a close up of the dove. She looks overwhelmed by the other birds. They are chaotically screaming around “No just try my dance!” “Or mine! Or mine!”
Sixth image is a close up of the dedication page. On a white background is the dove sitting on a white rock, with some pond vegetation around her. She is looking at some stars above her. Below that, the text reads “To granny Mealins, who loved birds the most.” - Jay Arthur Simpson & Ang Hui Qing. Further down text: The end]
