i think all my characters collect things, whether it its purposeful or not. for example, i think henrietta has a jar of extra buttons that she keeps because her mother always taught her to save the extra ones. a "you'll never know when you need to sew one" sort of thing.

before the experiment, i think emerson purposefully collected marbles and had an impressive array of them.

evangeline (a character i haven't really introduced yet), collects little mint tins because they're the perfect size for travel watercolor sets.

another character, warren (whom you also haven't met), seems like the type to accidentally have a big pen collection because he always misplaces his and asks to borrow one. and since henny has some pretty poor circulation in her hands, and em can't really regulate their body temp very well, and warren is used to warmer temperatures, i think eva would like the cold the best!! she puts out heat like a furnace and the image of the gang cuddling up to her when out in the snow is vvv cute!! here's a link to the original post!!

💐 What flowers would be used in a flower crown for your oc? Why those choices?

hi bestie thank you so much for the ask!! i've got two answers for you:

henrietta: ferns, white heather, irises

so i chose ferns for henrietta because they can mean a lot of things, most notably "sincerity towards others" and "shelter". this goes along with the white heather, which represents "protection", which fits because henry takes em in and keeps him safe!! and then finally the iris flower, which i found to mean "wisdom", "faith", and it can also express the sentiment "your friendship means so much to me". it also happens to be the inspiration for the fleur-de-lis, a french catholic symbol, and since hen is both french and has a lot of religious trauma going on i thought it was fitting lolol

emerson: aloe, white poppy, sweet pea

for emmy, i chose aloe vera because it is most commonly associated with healing, and my boy deserves a lot of that. but i also discovered that in funerary symbolism, it can also mean "resurrection" (because of the plant's ability to heal itself from near death), so of course it fits perfectly!! then white poppy represents "consolation", "sleep", and "rest", and sweet pea represents a departure and the sentiment of "thank you for a lovely time". supposedly it was named by john keats and i was planning on quoting some of his poetry anyway, so that's cool!!
