Work in progress for the male infected species for my Red Plague AU! I’m planning on having 3 main types of cordyceps. Men, women, and children. The ones that attack the older generations primarily focus on spreading their spores. On the flip side, the ones that attack the younger generation focus more on finding environments for the spores to grow on the infected; they need specific environments to grow enough to spread the spores, so the smaller bodies are adapted to climb, run, and have a higher sense of smell. While the bigger hosts are adapted to have stronger grasps, bigger spores to infect more people, and more durability, All of the species will be blind, the difference between the adult men and the adult women infected are that while both infect people, the women are focused more on infecting and “hunting” while the men are focused more on defence and fighting. The women who are infected will be quite agile and can even scale walls. Head shots won’t kill them like a zombie, even severed limbs will try to find a host to infect.
