hello :) idk if you can help but maybe someone reading this can
so am semiverbal and struggle with talking due to shutdowns, social anxiety + vocal tics/tremors affecting vocal chords
also struggle with motor due to tics/tremors and fatigue which affects typing, writing, signing and using most aac
right now use mostly talking since its most acceptable but is not most reliable. use aac apps (weavechat + cboard mostly weavechat) for making posts but don't use irl because am not allowed to in school and idk how to start using it in home
have communication cards in school but only have 4 for "need a break" "am ok" "need to leave classroom" and "am struggling" and am not allowed to use during exams
usually just don't tell people things because is getting worse getting harder
anyone know anything that can help? either communication method that might work or way to introduce aac to people/get allowed to use it in school
for context am in college (use school/college interchangeably but is a college) and live with my parents + siblings if thats helpful. and am doing exams now which need writing and/or speaking to do (i get choice which is easier)
I'm not sure where you are from, but I know in the USA we have 504s/IEPs, which are created for disabled students to have more accessibility in the classroom. From what I am aware, IEPs don't extend to college, but 504s do. If your country has something like that, I'd get in contact with the school to see if they could set one up for you.
As for introducing it, I'd start small if possible, and include an explanation as to why you use it somewhere on your AAC (if it's physical) if you can.
Anyone else who has any ideas can share too! Have a nice day, Biscuit!

Being a copinglink in a system of fictives from the same source is so weird because everyone assumes im a fictive too
Even without knowing abt the others the assume im a fictive from a different source and its so frustrating
-jaxi who is a COPINGLINK of AJAX (Ws) NOT a FICTIVE of JAX (TADC)
