“due to personal reasons, i will be creating another sidestep” 😉
text overlaid atop the dragon age logo that reads "@bisexualryder is one of my favorite people in the DA fandom. she creates INCREDIBLE content and her OCs are so interesting and unique. her warden trio as are some of my faves. and to top it all off, she's so nice and kind and welcoming, and always spreads positivity. she also goes out of her way to include others and get them excited about fandom again, like she did for me. she def deserves more love"
oooo, new warden! what sorta details about them have you worked out so far? *chin hands*
oh hi!! im gonna be honest, a lot abt charlie is still one big foggy wip; in fact i didn't even decide on their gender yet? im still weighing out epilogue options as i have a tendency to start things from the end hahah with the whole royal consort thing (i prefer alistair on the throne but i really want to bring myself to like anora more, she left a bitter-ish taste in my mouth on the first playthrough but idk maybe i'll like her more the more i meet her)
then there's the option of getting devoured by urthemiel's tainted soul that i didn't plan out for anyone yet and somehow it's more dramatic in my head if a noble does it, but i can't bring myself to sacrifice an oc for an achievement,,, im too weak,,,
+ im infamous for having way too many female characters no matter what universe we're talking about bc i find it incredibly difficult to relate to men, but again! having a trio of troubled edgy sons ™ since there are already two thirds of it sounds like a true opportunity
the only thing that's 200% certain is their mabari's name - cadogan. or should i say caDOGan dkfjhfh i'll see myself out
what's that book series about? what draws you to it and her writing? what inspired you about it?
OK OK WE'RE GOING TO GET INTO THIS (although i literally haven't read it in a couple of years bc i'm a bad fan but anyway)
ok so the story starts off by introducing us to our protagonist, amaranthe lokdon, she's an imperial law enforcer and all around by the books, goody two-shoes type of woman. she takes her job very seriously, and wants to find who is committing all the murders and human sacrifices around the empire and eventually she's tasked with finding the empire's most wanted assassin, sicarius. she does, but without capturing him. now here's where my dumb brain kind of forgets some details BUT amaranthe is wrongfully accused of doing bad things and fuck now she's a criminal too?? this wasn't supposed to happen. she doesn't let that defeat her tho, she will find out what's really going on, even if that means teaming up with the most wanted man in the empire, the notorious assassin, sicarius.
so yeah basically she and him decide to work together, oh and also she ensembles a rag tag group of other men who are....... a mess honestly that amaranthe (and sicarius) is the reluctant parent of. there's around 9? books in the series and each one tells a different story, while also revealing more of the main story that was set up in book one. i, for one, love books like that bc there's always something going on
so amaranthe and her children friends basically just go around solving mysteries in the empire, all while trying not to get captured and killed by her former occupation :/
honestly what drew me to it was that the first book was free lmfaoo i was just scrolling and trying to find something to read and bam this intrigued me and oh boy did it make me feel.
like idc how "good" or "bad" your book is by professional standards or whatever, as long as it makes me feel and care it's a good book to me i care for all of the characters i cared about what happened to them. now that may sound insignificant bc?? lots of books do that but i have problems connecting fully with any character and amaranthe just...... made me want to be like her. she's honestly a role model of mine and i love her to bits ok
i also love the fact that amaranthe is the only woman in their ragtag bunch but they don't question it.
they don't question her skills or try to tear her down to bring themselves up, they trust her and she inturn trusts them. that may seem like it doesn't matter but idk???? it's just stuck with me bc they truly are the found family trope and i........ love them so fucking much.
i love these books, i love how lindsay writes and conveys emotions and gets her vision across. it never feels like it's dragging on or that a scene is pointless, everything means something to me and i'm...... just rambling now but these books are so good. lindsay is amazing and deserves to be one of those authors everyone talks about. she's incredibly talented and driven and just keeps giving me characters and books to love.
and when i discovered this series it was different to me like everything i'd read before was basically good vs bad but that's not in this story. everyone has good and bad qualities about them and it?? made me want to develop more in-depth characters and try to make them more human. idk i can't really put my thoughts into words but it just makes me want to make characters that people can relate to. characters that make people fall in love with them and that make them feel something. i think that's so beautiful
🖊 🖊 :D
Thank you! I’ll actually use just one character for this one!
Belraj very much tries to be as distant as they can from people, to try and act cold and serious and tries their best to avoid letting them being vulnerable or emotional, and for the most part this works well, they do well as Warden Commander but avoid getting close at all. This composure they carry only ever breaks around animals, they’ll be smiling and laughing and affectionate, and the only other person they lose this carefully built mask is Nadia Amell. Belraj sees Nadia struggle so hard with power and instead offered the job to them, they see someone so afraid of their heritage that they hide their visibly elven traits, and yet they also see this person who tries so hard to be forgiving and sensitive, this sense of fairness, this love of magic, everything that they had suffered had not hardened them, and Belraj both sees someone they admire and someone who needs guidance, and they take this role but not alone, they stay in contact with Nadia as an advisor and they grow so close, and they find that Nadia is the one person they can be open with, and not put on this illusion and they enjoy that.
Belraj truly more then any other warden, is more than proud and happy to be a Warden. The Wardens saved them all so many years ago when they saw their potential and gave them a home when Belraj thought they’d never have a home or a community they love after they had to run away from it or risk ending up locked in a tower for their curse (atleast that’s how Belraj sees their magic), and they are just so proud of what being a Grey Warden means as well, this person who does whatever they can to save people without needing to fear anyone telling them that they can’t do something, it is as much a freedom to them as it is an obligation to stop the blight, even with your life. They don’t ever feel trapped by the Wardens, not even by this short lifespan or Calling
🖊 for both rinna & nin? :D
🖊 - They have similar opinions of the people of Skyhold. Rinna is much more suspicious of Blackwall than Nin though, and doesn’t like Solas all that much from the start.
Also both of them find Lace Harding very cute.

She’s so powerful!
24. an amv of ur first otp
I had to brainstorm what was my first otp exactly and I suddently remembered my crush on Krillin and his plot with #18 8D So here is a super short vid I did ages ago (and never finished). I think 18 was the first female warrior in DBZ and as a little girl I was so excited about her joining Krillin side. What a role model 8D
