My Big Dumb Polyamorous Crystal Gem Chain

I plan on eventually making another post about this, because I want to pick apart how I see each of these characters and their (possible) dynamics. But at the moment I just wanted to mention how I’ve been shipping the Crystal Gems lately, cause honestly I’ve been having a lot of feelings and thoughts about them and I really want to get them out somewhere. But, basically, I headcanon them all in one long-ass complicated polyamorous chain (barring Garnet and Steven):

Pearl is with Bismuth.

Pearl is also with Pink Pearl/Volleyball.

Pearl also has random stints with human women, although none of them are as serious or committed as what she has with Bismuth & Volley.

Bismuth is also in a relationship with Peridot and Lapis. She tends to be with them simultaneously rather than one-on-one (the movie did a number on me as you can see.)

Peridot and Lapis are also both in a relationship with Amethyst, although she isn’t with Bismuth. 

Amethyst also messes around with random humans like Pearl does (this has never been implied in the series, but I just imagine it’s something Amethyst would be into.) She tries not to get too serious about them.

I already implied this, but Lapis and Peridot are together, and tend to switch between Bismuth and Amethyst as third partners (I don’t know why, but I just like lapidot better when there’s a third party.)

I have no clue why it worked out like this but I guess I just prefer to add more and more ships to my roster instead of dropping any, even if they conflict? I’m in multishipper hell. Or is it heaven? Also I’ve been curious about polyamory irl lately, so I guess it’s on my brain often. Besides, all of these characters have such fun dynamics, I don’t wanna miss any!

This seems like it could get a bit messy or hard to handle, but honestly they’re all millennia old love-starved beings who could feasibly live forever as long as they’re not seriously injured. They have more than enough time and affection for each other, lol.

P.S: Although I don’t actively ship spinearl, I have nothing against it and like a lot of the ship’s content (I might be a borderline shipper, really), so Spinel could fit perfectly fine in this dynamic too.
