this was my only sgraffito piece with speckled clay

white is just so much crisper for sgraffito, speckled gives it kind of a softer feel. I found it a little drier to work with too. I mostly turned it into mushrooms

Soooo I wanted to draw bison

then it turned into a painting study and it was super fun:]]] didn’t really have a reason to do it just wanted to do something relaxing and for me ya know

In Fargo North Dakota we have these Bison sculpture scattered across the city so here is one of the 2 that are more well known 😊

I really love how this underglaze turns out after it's glazed, but I really don't like how it starts out the same colour as the clay. it makes it super hard to carve and photograph.

the sketch for this piece took a long time, but I think the result was worth the suffering.
