Likewise, the streak of silver at Eisen's temple is spreading outwards like kudzu, and his beard is more unkempt. The prison barber does a pretty shit job here. He slumps over, one hand resting on his chin, the fingers of the other hand drumming on the little table. "What d'ya think?" He asks with a facetious little smile. 3 years into a 5 year sentence. It's a miracle in and of itself that it was down to 5, considering the value of the pieces he stole from that museum. "I mean, it's better than Eichorn, but that's a low bar. It could just be that less people know me in here. And, of course, I haven't been stabbed yet so that's somethin' tae fuckin' celebrate." He scratches his chin and looks at Sadie. "Blonde suits ye," he finally says. "I like it." @genrcsavvy
her eyes lock on the grey in eisen's hair and something sad crosses her gaze. has it been so long since she's seen him? her fingers fiddle at the strap of her bag as guilt eats at the pit of her belly. did she really leave him alone for so long in this terrible, terrible prison? is she a terrible person? sadie doesn't smile back at him. instead, she's fixated on him like she's trying to memorize this older version of a man she once thought familiar.
" at least you haven't been stabbed. that's a blessing, ain't it? " she hasn't believed in god in many, many years, but perhaps something's looking out for the two of them. sadie's teeth sink into the inside of her cheek, the corner of her mouth turning down. " and at least you're alive in here. two more years and you'll be free. have you-- have you ever thought about what you're going to do after you get out? " it's a soft question, like she hasn't thought about those possibilities every night.
she doesn't realize she's playing with her hair until eisen says something. " oh. i was trying something new. i just-- the upkeep gives me something to do. i'm glad you like it. it's not-- too much, is it? "
