Is 8-Bit Mario Literal? Part 1
So in games like Super Mario RPG Legend Of The Seven Stars and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door there are some easter eggs you can find where Mario can be turn into his 8-Bit form. Seems like a simple easter, probably doesn't have any bearing on the lore right?
Well in Mario Party 8 one of the candies than can be eaten transforms the characters into 8-Bit versions of themselves, in which they stay like that until the make it to the final space. This physically happens to them.
But that not the only time something like this happens. In Super Mario Odyssey there are pixel pipes you can enter. From there Mario becomes 8-Bit Mario and can travel on walls like he's in Super Mario Bros. He bashes blocks, collects coins and Power Moons, stomps on enemies, etc. This canonically happens so my question is, is 8-Bit Mario literal? Part 2 coming soon
